www.hardcoregaming101.net/lastexpress/lastexpress.htmGOG just released this for like $6 (!!) so, like Police Quest last week, I dug up the article I wrote for the adventure game book and posted it. It's a confusing game to play at first, but once you get your grips on it, it's really damn cool.

My little sister often talks about this game and recommends me to play it. Now I can do it easily and for a great price. Nice!

Two corrections right at the beginning: The Maltese Falcon was written by Dashiell Hammett, not Raymond Chandler, and the Agatha Christie book is Murder on the Orient Express, not Murder OF the Orient Express. (That would be a pretty impressive murder.)

Fun article. I found a sealed copy of this at Half Price Books, but like derboo said in the Dunjonquest thread, I don't have the heart to open it :/. That, and someone, somewhere mentioned that it has compatibility issues even with DosBox and whatnot. Now that it's on GoG I need to see what the fuss is about .

I'm not sure if the CDs I bought had the DOS version on it, but the Windows version ran just fine in XP. I think the GOG version runs in a reconfigured DOSBox though.
If that's a big box copy of the game, I'd leave it sealed, too. CD copies alone usually go for at least $20, which is relatively high for a PC game.

This is a great game. I was wondering, are you going to review Azrael's Tear? It's another great adventure game that is unknown. It disappeared into obscurity though it has probably one of the best characters and plot in all of gaming. Here is a tutorial i did to set it up efficiently in dosbox: www.rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=46511#1231929

Quotes from Jordan Mechner's journal. The publicly available part only goes to early 1993, so most of the info concerning The Last Express would be missing, but there are some interesting mentions of the first planning stages to "the train game" in 1992!
