I had my share of drinks in College but it never occurred to me to play any games, save for one time I was loaded and played Midtown Madness. It was more of an experiment to see what it's like to drink and drive.

Hmm, I believe that I already mentioned this in the kusoge thread, but I was pretty well buzzed when I finally realized just how fun Bokosuka Wars is. I wonder what other kusoge I could find enjoyment from with the help of a little alcohol?

Bad survival horrors are always good with mates when drunk. We were all falling around laughing at The Ring and Illbleed on the DC although to be honest we didn't get much past the intros  Nerdiest thing I ever did while drunk was playing 4 player micro machines 2 in the pub. Still it got the attention of some girls that were wondering jus what the fuck we were doing. One of them thought my street fighter 2 t-shirt was some hindu symbol and tried to get off with me with her boyfriend there which almost caused trouble. |

I've played Rock Band and Guitar Hero tipsy or drunk many a time. Playing Smash Bros. drunk is also one of the few ways I actually enjoy that game.
I also played DDR once while drunk and actually did pretty good!

When one of my friends came to visit me for a couple weeks we went to Akihabara together for a couple days. The night we got there we went out to dinner and had an unspoken drinking contest with two Japanese guys sitting at the next table. They won but we put up a good fight. We stumbled out and it was too late to do anything (everything closes at like 8pm!) but the arcades were still open so we went to one. He played that shmup test game and I recorded his drunken playing on my cell phone. Then back at the hotel there was this show about detectives who had cellphones that turned into robots and it was the most surreal thing ever.
Right now I am playing FFXIII whilst drunk and it is the most hilarious game I've ever played. Though I suspect in the morning I will have regret the ~$9 I spent on the game.

Played Demon's Souls once while drunk. I somehow managed to get through the infamous swamp level (whoever played the gane knows what I mean) without a scratch, the occasional plague/poison effect aside. Then came the boss - actually the easiest boss in the game - and I got stuck in the level geometry and was killed.

Anyway, with the way I get drunk/stoned and play games (all the damn time) I should have a story here. But I can't recall an interesting one and will post back here when I do. Some amounts of either or both in my system does make me better at fighters and shmups, though, like the one time a couple years ago when I was zen at Third Strike with some beers in me, or 1cc'ing Salamander on PCE stoned (I must've had like.. 7 lives at one point.) With more casual friends I do the Rock Band thing. |
