I really couldn't stand the art style, but everything else was nice. I liked how Jack had an invincible sword, and how Aku basically won in every episode, simply because Jack couldn't go home.

I never understood the appeal of Samurai Jack either. Maybe if I was to watch the entire thing I'd feel differently.

It wasn't a great show but I had a lot of fun watching it. Honestly my favorite cartoon from around that era was Courage the Cowardly the Dog, though.

I like Gendy's work on the original Clone Wars and Sym-Bionic Titan more, to be honest.
And Courage is awesome. The animation alone was probably some of the best ever for a comedy cartoon. And it just refuses to be conventional. Everything ones on this weird sort of dream-logic that makes it feel unlike any TV cartoon I've seen.
Also, I'm looking forward to The Amazing World of Gumball for the sheer amount of medium blending involved. Adventure Time and Regular Show are nice, but their art can be a little too consistent compared to Flapjack.

I think the reason I at least liked Samurai Jack was how it came out alongside Gorillaz and Jet Set Radio Future and I was all for anything colorful like a raver.

I thought I was alone in thinking Jack was overrated too, but I'm glad I'm not the only one.
My beef with Samurai Jack was that it was so pretentious. I always felt it overdid it with all the action sequences, attempting to be on par with an anime, but to the point to where it stops being "cool" and becomes obnoxious. And the basic formula of the show got old fast: Jack wanders around for a way home, finds robots, kills robots, fails to get home, repeat. What occasional breaks in the formula there were did very little for me.
Never liked the setting of the world Jack got thrown into either, as it felt too inconsistent and random, like it was trying to be too many things at one time. The only main thing that stuck around were the robots, and even that got tiresome.
I tried watching it from beginning to end one time years ago, but after I got three quarters of the way through it, I couldn't stand it anymore and stopped, and I haven't watched it since.

Oh yeah Courage was the fucking shit. Fool! You want to destroy flan?? Flan will destroy you! And every time I see a troll on some board I think of the bald bearded guy with the glasses who was completely brainwashed on that episode.

Courage sometimes bothered me, but I agree it was a good show. It had a lot of very interesting moments. I kind of feel it declined after Eustice's original VA died, though; his replacement just couldn't make the old guy sound as good as his predecessor.
