Most of you may have heard of the tornado that ripped through Alabama and a few of the other states. I'm OK, my town didn't get hit, but the entire northern half of the state is completely without power. No homes, businesses, stoplights, nothing. We don't know how much longer it'll be like this, but the worst case scenario is 4 to 6 days. Right now, I am in a hotel in Tennesee, typing this on a cell phone the size of my palm. I think we leave Sunday, whether power is back or not. I will be in an internet cafe in Pidgeon Forge tommorow, hopefully I can use Mibbit to get on IRC then. I miss you guys, seriously.

Wow... this is honestly the first I've heard of this, but it's good to hear you're okay. Here's hoping that the power's up when you return and a safe journey home to boot.

Yeah, I heard about that on the news. Tornados are awful, and I definitely hope someday we'll find a way to combat that kind of thing. Stupid thinking, I know, but it's something I hope for in the future.
Where I live, we get tornado warnings all the time, but they've never gotten all that near my own town. The most we got was a microburst that tore our local Arby's apart.
Hang in there, dude.

6 people died back where I used to live and a tree crashed through the roof of my parents' house Fortunately, insurance will cover it. I was on the phone with someone in Tuscaloosa before they hit (on a call for Zipcar), and they ended up calling someone back who was sitting next to me later saying the Zipcar got completely totalled.

Well, the electric company apparently says they'll have power back Monday. Hopefully I can convince my parents to stay here for another day. If not, they'll be going to the winery on the way back. Maybe I can have them pick me up something.
I'm out of options, and I need entertainment.
EDIT: Power's back a day sooner than I expected, I come back tommorow. Looking forward to it, even if the place I stayed was pretty nice.
