I've seen a bunch of glowing reviews, GamesTM even said it was as good as Bayonetta as an action game.
Anyone played?

Yes it is very good it improves on all the Problems the Original had and using the Right Thumb Stick to dodge works great. The game is fairly long with two characters to play and plenty of hidden extras amnd power ups(even one that makes the game 3d with red and blue 3d glasses). All modes can be played two players Localy and Online as well. The game has much more difficulty setings as making it more acessible to players than the Original Well worth the Money.

Didn't know they made a sequel to The Dishwasher.

I ignored this game for so long because it was called "Dishwasher." I mean, what the hell kind of video game title is that? But then a friend showed me the demo, and I thought it was awesome. I can't answer the opening question though because I'm not sure if I was playing the first or second one.

I really loved the first game. I bought this one day one, but haven't had time to get around to it, yet.

I've never played either game, but some IRL dipshit spoiled the story of the first game for me.

Yes it is excellent; it is a whole new game with new assets, not just a bunch of new levels with the same mechanics and assets. The gameplay is more refined, easier too. It plays differently than the first (for example, there is a strong emphasis on grapple moves and aerial combos that was not in the first game). There are now two different storylines, which do not change the gameplay a lot, but which still provide variety and replayability.
Overall the graphics, while being reaaally close to those of the first Dishwasher, are more varied, and overall more pleasing (especially the new enemies). If anything, this sequel made me play the first game in tandem with it, and I loved to savor the differences between the two. Overall, it is a tighter package with a better flow, which plays a bit differently than the first game, and offers a better implemented difficulty progression. So yes it is an excellent XBLA purchase; and I can also recommend the first game, seeing as the two games offer enough differences to justify buying both. But make no mistake, I think this episode is the better. With moody, great ambiance via gritty graphics and great music, excellent gameplay, and a very emotional way of telling it's story, The Diswasher VS has loads of personality, and is great fun. When you're done with it, just try the demo for the first installment; the gameplay differences will then seem obvious... and both games deserve a buy IMHO; Vampire Smile must be the first buy, though.

I've read so many good things about this game I downloaded the demo of the first one just to give it a go...
and was totally put off. This second episode would have to be a lot better than the first. Or the demo of the first game is shite.
