www.renegadekid.com/mutantmudds.htmThis game is by Renegade Kid, makers of the Dementium series and Moon on the DS, some of the better FPSes on the system. Formerly a 3D platformer for DSiWare ( which didn't really look that good at all) it's changed for it's 3DS version into it's current 2D form. You use a water powered jetpack and gun to fly and shoot shit, and can switch from the foreground to the background, which being in stereoscopic 3D will greatly enhance. Jools Watsham, co-founder of the company and one of the people working on the game, also stated in the Nintendo Power where this was unveiled that an inspiration for Mutant Mudds was Virtual Boy Wario Land (probably the best title the VB ever had, which did similar things). This is looking very awesome and I'd love to see more unique stuff like this on the eShop service. It comes out later this year and we'll seeing more about this at E3.

This actually looks like a good reason for me to be interested in a 3DS, but so far that's only one thing - time will tell if it ends up being awesome enough to sell me the system.

Looks kind-of Apogee-inspired.

Everything about this looks good to me except the enemy variety and that it looks easy, but there's still time and my money's on those being the first couple stages.
Didn't know there was also 3 planes instead of two to traverse, too. Cool stuff.
