Ok, just watched the trailer/preview in the opening post. Interesting, but its also confusing. Without having read the articles, it seems to imply its both a reboot and a sequel there a reference to pevious thundercats having defeated mumm-ra and theya re on 3rd earth). However from other links in the thread, it seems its a reboot.
Not sure I like the teen age look of Lion-O, but then thats probably the old grumpy in me saying "Its not the same as before! it must be bad make it the same!" lol
Also, was the king voiced by the original Lion-o? It (kind of, a little bit) sounded like him.
Oh yes and people that don't like He-Man are bad people. He-Man is awesome. His cartoon is also awesome. (and I do speak as both a child of the 80s that grew up with He-Man and an adult that re-watched the series on pay TV again a few years back)
Yes, it's a complete reboot. This time, Thundara is a kingdom of Third Earth instead of a separate planet. It's also supposed to be a heavily isolated kingdom. I imagine the part about Mumm-ra is meant to establish him as an enemy of Thundara or something, rather than be a reference to the original.
And yes, that is the original VA voicing Lion-O's dad.
Also, on the whole Mumm-Ra versus Mon*Star (apologies if I got them wrong), I think Mumm-Ra has the more impressive result, but Mon*Star has the cooler transformation sequence. That said, Mon*Star loses points for the result of his transformation arguably looking less impressive than his initial state.
