I have a wish for the next Mega Man game (any, really): Just get released, oh please, I'm begging you! Otherwise new games in series I like could come with a sub. People like those, right? And it would make it harder on the used games market, just like EA and the others are already trying to.

Raizing's shmup series would be greatly improved by just being continued. And the next Virtua Fighter game would be improved by getting a console port.
Suikoden would be improved by dying in piece, while keeping the shreds of it's dignity =/

One thing I didn't like about Hard Corps was how alternate paths could end the game two or three whole levels early. Wait, what? The only "path" that ends the game any earlier than the others is the secret ending path, which was a joke. There is that one path which is about seven or eight levels long. Compared to that path, the others are rather short, as they mostly last about five-six levels each. I still like the amount of replay value that is brought in by all the different paths one can take, however.

I would make a Contra game with lots of branching paths through each level, along with multiple hidden levels to find. Contra: Hard Corps was on the right track with this, but I would expand on the concept so that potentially you could have tons of different areas to explore in the same game, each time you play. It could be kind of like Metal Slug 3 in a way. THIS. Also, I'd say make Resident Evil about horror again. Revelations looks like a great start. But what I'd love to see is a combo of Outbreak 1 and 2 that enables online AND local co-op for 4 players. This would make a lovely 3DS or Vita game. I'd love Zero redesigned to A) take out the stupid singing leech Queen shit, because that was retarded even by Resident Evil standards, and B) make co-op optional. I'd say fill in parts of the game where Rebecca and Billy separate, giving each of them their own path, thus enabling 2 players to play through the game together (again, with a choice of online or local play). Not saying co-op should be forced, but perhaps in single player you'd choose Rebecca or Billy and stick with them when they're separated. And to improve Mega Man, actually make Mega Man games.

Every beat em up can be improved by following the god hand formula and allowing you to custom your moves instead of having the same old combo for the whole game and every replay.

I just thought of another way to make an awesome Contra game; there could either be an entire game like this, or maybe this could just be a certain mode in the game. There could be a Contra game that has randomly-generated levels. Part of the appeal of Contra is replaying the same areas in order to try and perfect your run through each stage, but I think it would be really interesting if every time you played, you had to deal with something new. It would keep the game constantly fresh.

By turning off the internet. Without reading or listening to any negative bitching games tend to feel lot more fun and nice.

By turning off the internet. Without reading or listening to any negative bitching games tend to feel lot more fun and nice. Very true. It's not that I've gotten turned off from a game because of it per se, but it does lose its appeal when I have to associate it with the ugliness online. One reason I enjoy obscure games. Taiko no Tatsujin - Reduce the requirements to unlock Oni difficulty. Maybe check the saves of other Taiko no Tatsujin games to see if Oni had already been unlocked there...? TokiMemo games - Trash the ridiculous bomb concept, or at least have it make more sense (going after the secret characters in 4 was so much fun because you didn't have to worry about bombs). Just about every other game - A fucking scene skip option. No, not a speed text button. Scene skip.

I thought that leech thing was good, those scenes with the operatic singing were unusual but I thought it made it genuinely stressful. It was the shoehorned Matrix slow-mo stuff that bothered me although it was brief, since it was being forced into other games and I thought it really cheapened the game. I talked about this recently elsewhere, when a capable developer unecessarily jumps on the bandwagon in such an obvious way it just looks desperate and degrading.

I'd take Cream, Cheese, and Big the Cat out of the next Sonic game. Honestly, I feel Sonic started going downhill since the re-design in 1998 and the overly cutesy stuff put into the games ever since. Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog were both decent in my opinion, but I'd like them to make another attempt at something along the lines of Sonic CD.

I know this post couldn't POSSIBLY end well for me in the slighest, and I'm ready for that, but have you ever looked at Sonic Colors? Sonic only, the only other 'friend' in the game is Tails, plus you don't have any alternate gameplay styles and missions to deal with. Also, the writing is fantastic. As for an example myself, all I can really think of is that I'd like to see whatever people are bitching about in the new Mortal Kombat fixed so they'll quit whining and playing it. Honestly, I still fail to see the issues in the animation itself, since Capcom has the same issue. They're just better at hiding it.

Sonic had a redesign in 1998? Really? What has changed then and in what game could you first see a change?

Sonic was redesigned for Sonic Adventure, which was released in Japan in 1998. The major changes include making him skinnier and giving him green eyes instead of the simple black pupils.
