No wai! It was sitting there all along? I guess this puts an end to the theory that they threw it out the door without coding an ending at all due to piracy concerns. See also tcrf.net/Mega_Man_Soccer for other stuffs (including playable Dr. Wiley).

Aaaaand now the credits have been found! Probably the last secret this game has. JLukas has managed to make a code that enables you to see the staff roll. It is not found during the ending as previously thought, but in the password screen. JLukas says that apparently the Staff Roll can be found by normal means, but the method to access it is unknown. I guess one probably has to enter a special password or maybe a button code to enable it. In the meantime, to see the Staff Roll, just input this Game Genie code ( DDC8-3DDC ) and then enter the password screen. Viddy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I37p1cINu4

Capcom's inability to code a proper ending during the 16-bit age is just bizarre. Though admittedly it's not so much "we are bad at endings" so much as it is "oh my god how do we make functional text routines somebody please help us."

Found it weird this game has no Pal version as it would of been more popular here than America. But they was a Bomberman Baseball game on PS2 in Europe so this happens other way round. Back to the Future part 3 On Megadrive is even worse than this the game looks really dark because the game is using the wrong graphics palete all the time. www.vgmuseum.com/reviews/genesis/backfuture3/

So why is Proto Man looking at the afterimage of Mega Man in the sky? Was Mega Man unable to escape from Dr. Wily's fortress while it was collapsing?

My thoughts exactly. It should be the other way around.

Or Mega Man Soccer is chronologically the last Mega Man game.

To be fair, this was made before Mega Man 7 and at the time Mega Man 6 was considered the final game of the original series, since Capcom did not originally intend the series to leave the NES (that's why they made the X series and the Game Boy versions are just side-games). Maybe they removed the ending since they wanted to make more Mega Man sequels set in the original universe and they couldn't do that if they implied that Mega Man died.
Do the codes work for the Rockman's Soccer version as well?
