Finally, after years of (a very select few) Megaman fans wondering if Megaman's Soccer really had an ending, after finding the ending music and credits text inside the ROM, after we've all given up hope of seeing the actual ending, comes Kung Fu Furby with a cheat that lets you trigger the ending. Please note that since the game was coded poorly, there's no official way to trigger the ending. But it was indeed coded in, and use this method found by Kung Fu Furby to see it yourself: Enter these cheats in your emulator 81829BEE 81829CE0 Turn on the game. Select Tournament, then keep pressing Start to begin the game. You will get the ending instead of the opening. Unfortunately, the credits (which you can see by opening the ROM in a hex editor) are not found on this ending. I don't know if maybe another game mode gives you the credits or or if there's really no way to trigger it. I'll wait until Kung Fu Furby digs a bit deeper. Here's a video of the ending: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeqp3l2QUnI

I feel so geeky and borderline dirty for truly caring about this, but I gotta say: Yay, finally!

It's about time. Capcom had some pretty horrifically bad coders back in the day.

Huh. It looks like they actually call him "Protoman" in the credits, but I thought they called him "Blues" in the game?

Man, that cutscene was cool I wish these had actually made it into the game. Mega Man Soccer seriously wasn't a bad game, although it could have been better.

I wish they had implemented that four player mode. Wouldn't hesitate to pick it up then.

That probably would explain it, but I recall hearing that some console versions of Street Fighter games on the Super NES had text that was accidentally omitted from the end credits, which made certain pieces of dialogue nonsensical. Did they have a hand in that as well?

Did they have a hand in that as well? I don't think so. Maybe it was sloppy localization. The Japanese version of SFII Turbo is in Japanese, so I can't compare. Given that it's a Capcom game and it was done by a outside company, I'm surprised Mega Man Soccer has credits anywhere, even if they're just in the ROM. I think leaving out the ending was intentional, not just sloppiness.

For such horrible coding, they don't deserve to have their names displayed in credits anyway.

Did they have a hand in that as well? I was the one that made a topic about that ( hg101.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=games&action=display&thread=7782). But it's not just the SNES versions, the Arcade games also has text cut off. Slam Masters 2 has incomplete dialogues and even Cammy's ending in Super Street Fighter 2 and SSF2 Turbo glitches out in one paragraph.
