I got an arcarde game I can't understand wtf the voices say, can anyone listen to the files and tell me what you make out of it? Maybe someone has a program that can separate the voices from the music? Nebulasray, a shooter. www.vgmuseum.com/end/nebulasray_voice.mp31-4 seconds, girl says: i dunno wtf she says. 5-9 seconds, guy says: "all systems ready (running?), increasing maximum attack speed, ______ (dispatching? exactly?)" the voices repeat again in the file. 52-104 seconds, guy says: " memo ray (or something, the hero's name is Fighting Ray) one to mothership" Another voice says: "_______, this is the mothership" Guy says: "hit target(?)" Another voice says: "congratulations, and welcome to the ______ heroes" Girl says: again, I dunno wtf she says with that nasal voice. Guy says: "we are returning(?)"

Numan Athetlics is so awesome. Sorry I can't help here as my sound seems to be messed up at the moment.

For Numan Athletics: Set DIP1 (TEST) on and wait. Button 1 moves the cursor up. Button 3 moves it down. Use Button 2 to select an item. Select "Sound Test." Make sure the cursor is on SONG (which it is by default). Now use Player 2's controls in the same manner (though use Player 1's Button 2 to play a track; Player 2's Button 2 moves back to the previous menu). Here are some sound codes with unique voice clips. Song 09 50 (same voice as in your 19-28 seconds example) 51 (same voice: "are you ready?") 52 (same voice: "Heeeere we go!") 53-54: chopped up "Congratulations!" 55: "winner is..." 56: "here's..." 57: starting to go over bits heard in sound code 50. rats! must be a memory allocation issue. 72: Sadly, that seems to be the last of it. After the last code around 72, nothing else triggered a sound. So I don't know where the girl's voice is hiding (I tried all the Vox codes and didn't get anything...yes, I tried all 256 of them, from 0x00 to 0xFF). Still, there were snatches of sound that seemed close. I don't know how the game's internal sound system works, so it's possible that many of the 'repeat' tracks were actually triggers for other clips with banking (sorta like on Salamander 2 how code 269/0x10c activates second round ("Maeda version") music, which replaces the regular music, and 267/0x10b resets the music to regular tracks. I basically plowed through the sound codes from start to finish. Nebulastray I'll have to check out later when I'm on a better PC. Viva Nonno HLE Driver games just choke this computer (2.7 GHz Celeron does terrible).

Alright, update: Played the game a bit. Sharon is saying at 8-10 seconds "this/that isn't my best, you know."

Thanks Ed. I did fiddle with the sound test before, but the problem is not hearing them, the problem is understanding what it is they are saying. I manage to understand what the announcer said already though: "Here are the results of the finals."
Nebulasray is gonna be hard since the game doesn't have a sound test and it's pretty hard to understand anything with the sound effects in the background. I tried downloadin sound editting programs but I needed to register to be able to remove noise and music from sound files.
These are voice clips from the endings of both games. I'm pretty anal about putting incomplete endings and without the voices I won't put the endings on the page. I'll be sure to thank you in my next update and anyone else that helps too.

I could understand all of Sharon's voice overs perfect the first time I played the game, are you perhaps running an older version of MAME or something (the sound effects would be screwed up on most Neo Geo games on older versions too as an example)?

Nope, my Mame is one of the latest. The problem is me, I can't understand what she says (or said, thanks to Ed).
I don't know why but I have trouble understanding lyrics in songs and speech in games unless they are crystal clear and perfectly worded out - and 90% of the time they aren't.

Yeah the sample quality on most pre-1995 or so arcade games is pretty awful.
