More importantly, If you've ever seen or read Roroni Kenshin or Samurai X, You will notice a ton of similarities to character in SS games, The guy who made the anime/manga said his inspiration was drawn heavily from those games, The Last Blade is almost like SNK paying him back.

As I understand it, the Samurai Spirits/Shodown team included people who had worked on Ninja Scroll, then goes on with what you say. Could be wrong there on a technicality, but I definitely remember that one of the SNK series drew inspiration from animation which in turn was inspired by the series. Nifty.

I played Amakusa's Revenge or whatever you want to call it once. I hated it because Amakusa is a cheap little feminine bastard. I also disliked the lack of a training mode.

I remember in Capcom vs SNK 2 on the 'cube (I foolishly traded it in, when I was dumb enough to think trading games in was a good idea) and I remember there was some chick from Last Blade that reminded me very much of Kenshin, though I forget her name. If it wasn't for her remidning me of Kenshin, I probably would never have bothered playing as her much.

Well, I know absolutely dick about Ruroni Kenshin (or most anime in general, for that matter), but her name is Hibiki, and she is rather cool. Reminds me a bit of a female Ukyo... and there WAS a female Ukyo in SSV named Yumeji, who managed to look a LOT like Hibiki! An odd parallel, if I must say so.

I have noticed that nobody metioned that computer platformer with Nakururu. If anybody does this series be certain to mention that, as well as other games I may have neglected.
I REALLY like this series, by the way, and it is a perfect series to discuss here.

Yeah that Nakoruru game was ported to the Dreamcast, and then eventually became an anime. I almost bought it a little while ago except...didn't. Whenever I cover it, I'll snag it.

BUMP! Kurt, how's the article coming along? This week looks pretty busy, but I'll see if I can get in a few character descriptions if you don't have any yet. Also, allow me to comment that one of the reason SS3 is one of my lesser favored entries in the series is its irksome AI. It's almost as painful as Art of Fighting 2, IMO.
