I'll look back through the list and contribute a couple more if I can, Kurt.

Hey, wow. I wrote the music for Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden and I was blown away that it was on this list when I stumbled upon it today. I don't know what to say! It really means a lot to me that you'd put it on this list! Thanks a lot everyone ;)

I suppose now would be a good time to ask about that track name!
And also, thanks for making like one of the best JRPGs of the last decade. It'll get featured here, one day!

I'm embarrassed to say I've recently started going through this list. A nice selection but I am surprised by the seeming lack of C64 tracks, considering the popularity of the SID chip. I'm not even a big fan of the system for its games, but I've used various SID players in my time for listening purposes.
If you're keen for a more Euro-centric emphasis, you should post on Retro Gamer's forum (or I could do this), since they do love their SID tunes over there.

Whoa, I'm a little surprised not to see any of the first The Sims "build mode" songs in any of the lists. On the other hand this is pretty much the only ones I didn't find on the lists...
...I wouldn't even remember Toejam & Earl in a selection such as this one for example =)

Is there a playlist of all those clips in order. I'm slowly making up one as I listen, but if there is already another I think I might aswell use that.

I'm not sure if there's a point in resurrecting an old thread like this, but it took me this long to get this far! Anyways: 416: Punch Out!! – Fight Theme: Has items for both the NES and Wii versions of the song, but both links contain the Wii version. 365: Castlevania – Heart of Fire: Same as above, both links contain the Aria of Sorrow version. 417: Mortal Kombat – Mortal Kombat Theme: Despite being a great song, it isn't from a MK game, so I don't think it should be here. 403: Legend of Zelda OoT – Title Theme: The link goe to the Hyrule Symphony rearrengement of the Zelda main theme, which is a different song altogether.

I don't even want to think about how many links are broken due to Youtube for this, considering it was over a year and a half ago.
Anyway, the Mortal Kombat theme appeared in the Sega CD version of the game, and it was specifically created for the franchise as opposed to just licensed, so it counts.

Yeah, I don't expect all the links to work anymore either, but I suppose the ones that do but lead to wrong songs have been wrong from the get go, I'd think? Anyway, I stand corrected about the MK theme.

Given how much Final Fantasy&Chrono Trigger songs in particular there are on this list (over 100? that's boring tbh), I'm shocked that there isn't a single tune from Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 or Tyrian 2000 and only one song from Deus Ex (one of the most consistently awesome game soundtracks of all time). And of course very little C64&Amiga tunes. I also expected that some Ape Escape tunes would've made the list, it's one of my favorite video game sondtracks. And if we're talking PS1 platformers, the Crash Bandicoot series (CTR included) had a lot of memorable tunes in 2&3 in particular.
Though the biggest surprise to me was to see a Chrono Cross song at the top I've never heard of before. At least numbers 2-4 are totally understandable picks.
