Gamestop. I fucking hate that place, As i mentioned earlier they have some "HOLY GRAILS" (heavy metal voice) So what did he find for 7.50 buy two get a third one free The first one he found was, of course because it just kicks ass, Killzone. The second one was a bit scarcer - Disgea. But the third. Too bad that asshole goes back to pheonix before i can play it :<

LOL, GAME QUEST DIRECT REPRINTS
Unless it looks used, you can be certain it's one of those. Mine would tear open the packaging so they weren't selling "new" PlayStation games (they have a policy against that for some reason), usually leaving penknife marks against the sides or breaking bits of the case.

I actually found Ehrgeiz at a gamestop back in 2001 - very used, with enough scratches on it that I can't play it nowadays (I had to bittorrent it to be able to play it again).

My GameStop used to carry PS1 games but they recently stopped selling them and they all disappeared. Over the past 3 years I got these beauties from the store I go to most often: -Bushido Blade 1 and 2 -Tales of Destiny 1 and 2 (Tales 1 manual looks like a kid gnawed on it though) -Original versions of Final Fantasy Tactics, Anthology, Chronicles, Origins, 7, 8, 9 -Erhgeiz -Chocobo Racing -DDR Konamix -Front Mission 3 -Saga Frontier 2 -Original Xenogears -and Parasite Eve 1 and 2 Just about all the game CDs were perfect, some minor scratches. They were pretty good on only letting games that weren't too banged up to be traded in. My friend also found Suikoden 2 there in prestine condition, looked like it was never played, and for only $20.
-Side note, also found Rhapsody and Persona 2 at another one as well, but I've noticed, at least in my area, that Rhapsody has been showing up a lot lately. Anyone else notice a harder to find title that seems to be everywhere?

Persona 2 and Rhapsody was re-printed via Gamequestdirect.com They were supposedly negotiating reprints of Valkyrie Profile and Suikoden-II the last time the media sites checked up on them.
Despite this, there are still eBay sellers that tote their 'NEW -Sealed- MINT**RARE** + +' copies of either game for $180+.

My girlfriend recently found a copy of Disgaea at a Gamestop last week. It was an awesome find, and yes, it looked quite used.
I'm still glad I bought my copy of VP for $35 a few years ago.

Woah woah woah. I just took a gander at ebay for Disgaea. WHEN THE HELL DID IT SHOOT UP IN PRICE LIKE THAT!?!?!?!? I'm in the dark obviously. I was thinking to myself, Why are you guys mentioning Disgaea, and now I know, lol. I'm confused by it also, since I bought mine brand new for $20 at EB over a year ago, and never actually played it.

I'm still glad I bought my copy of VP for $35 a few years ago. Indeed; even a few years ago (if indeed you mean "a few," and not "during the previous millennium") the price was quite high, so that was a good deal.

Wow, VP huh? That was a good find.
What makes it worse for me is that there never WAS a PAL version of it. Still, I intend to buy a copy off ebay one day. Not for awhile though.

Uber find indeed. My brother got his copy of the game off Ebay a few weeks back for a modest $90 or so. I'm trying to work out a small trade where he'll let me play it if I loan him my copies of Suikoden I & II (Obtained for $17 and $25 a pop back when that was the usual asking price). That being said, I feel compelled to lay out what may be the greatest deal I've ever received for a set of video games and certainly one of the best I've heard tell of among all the great "awesome trades" out there.
The setting is my sophomore year of high school, which was about six years ago and when the release of FF Anthologies was a rumor. I'm hanging out with a few friends, and one of them, being the entrapeanuring sort, offers me a lot of SNES games he wanted to liquidate, along with a controller. He lists them off after I inquire further:
Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy MQ, Legend of Zelda: LttP, Super Mario RPG, and a worn SNES controller (since I didn't have one- I'd be lucky at a garage sale a year ago and picked up a SNES unit- sans controllers or cables, for free). I ask his price and he names it. I hear it and I don't believe it, asking him if he was sure he wanted to sell for that price. He affirms it, and I say deal. The next day, I get the games- with their instruction books and maps and the like and give him a firm hardy handshake, then head out to the local Gamestop/Funco Land for hook ups for my SNES so I can try them out (The first being FF: MQ- if the SNES was free in that it might have been broken, I'd rather have had it catch fire and take that with it than any of the others).
What I did I pay for all that you ask? $22.00. I have since been very satisfied with my purchase (given that the Macintosh and OS 9 did and still does not have a decent SNES emulator- and that I really enjoy playing games on the console). As for my friend, he realized a few months later what the market price was, though thankfully there was no hard feelings since he made the offer and set the price. Last I heard from him though was about 3 years ago when I was saddened to discover he'd fallen into a nasty drug habit (which I also then found out played a part in why he wanted the quick cash from the game sales- sad, but life is unfortunately like that at times).
