The main reason why I didn't want to get into this game is because I feared it would eat too much into time which I should be doing homework. Welp... it happened. I can see why everybody's nuts for this game. ;D
Unfortunately, I only have it in emulator form... makes me wanna get an NGPC. To say the least, SNK and Capcom really outdid themselves with this. I can only predict that the DS version will kick ass from here to the edge of the universe.

I read somewhere that the DS version was only a rumor and that there isn't going to be one since Capcom/SNK license expired and there are no talks between the companies about renewing it.

Which NGPC emulator are you using, Sotenga? NeoPop?

I use neopop, though I now play with the sound off because on this computer (which I guess must run to fast for it) the sound gets all messed up. The sound used to run on my older computer, and I can't seem to find anyway to mess with the sound controls.

I got into it, and indeed it was a fantastic game the likes of which needs to be duplicated, but the AI pretty much sucks most of the fun out of it.
That sounds a little too harsh, really. The AI merely knocks it down from being a contender for game of the eon to just really really fun.

The AI is much better in the second one. The first one it's just retarted. Over all the second game is much better and more well balanced.

The one called NGPocket is pretty good too.

The second game is very easy to figure out in Japanese anyway given the less open game structure. The cards I figured out through trial and error. I got it back when I had zero knowledge of Japanese instead of very very little and had no problems.

But right now, in the SNK version of CF1, I'm trying to build up a kickass deck. There's some good cards in there, one of my favorites of which is Haohmaru.

Is it possible to *print* the cards and play against real people (like Magic: The Gathering) or does it do things that can only be done in a video game?

You know, that sounds like a remarkably good idea...Given I have used the Bison avatar tonnes of times from it the idea of having it on a real card would be totally, totally hot.
