Don't play it it's crap.
But i've been thinking, Of a way do re-do bomberman with "umph"
It would have to be a mod for half-life two or on the source engine, because singleplayer wouldn't really be possible
Let's use the bitchin Act-Zero Models for some of it
CLOSED AREA
What we have here is the essential bomberman
Eight players in a mostly-destructable maze,
bombs explode like they used to.
The new mechanics to freshen it up and not suck?
Multi Level terrain like the somehow-awesome bomberman n64 game but taking the two player aspect, Well throw in some more strategy, Like a floor of "Grates" a randomly generated maze above the normal one, which is accesable by stairs or water or something.
The "Grates" Act as a type of quick jump, Both players - and bombs can fall through them. But you never know where they are, So when you think you have someone trapped and you lay that killing bomb, it falls through the floor and you need a dire change of tactics.
OPEN AREA
Think of it bomberman with areas like a multiplayer MGs,
Only for the most part destructable.
View is a askewed 3d top-view from angle.
This is where the Act Zero Models come from.
Enviroments could range from complexes to someones yard.
When a player drops a "Bomb" They drop to a kneel for a qucik second, leaving them open to attack and drop a visible explosive on the playing field, which when explodes covers a small area and deals terrain damage to whatever may be nearby Such as boxes, motorcycles which yield items as well as killing grass or any other enviromental effect. The players have Powerups available scattered throghout as well as two extra "Weapons" A pistol, that when shoots a player does nothing but causes bombs to detonate and a Pipe, that when hits players it Momentarily stuns them, though not enough time for a bomb to explode
