As far as I'm concerned, Capcom could've stopped making Mega Man games after X4. Almost everything after that point has been crap. I'm more of a Mega Man watcher than player, though, so I guess it doesn't make a huge difference to me either way. One good thing has come from modern Mega Man, though. The Rockman Perfect Memories book is *ahem* "mega" cool. I ignore the sections on the newer games, but I LOVE being able to see all the old art and such from the classics. I really should play through Mega Man Legends someday, though. My boyfriend cringes at the thought, but when I keep on hearing Tail Concerto being compared to it, I get very intrigued.

Tail Concerto is cool, but Legends is far better in terms of customization, exploration, and story.

Legends is often regarded as a Zelda clone that did it much better than Zelda ever did, along with being the best Megaman series of them all. Also, the second one is SHINY.

Rockman Zero art book or complete works or what it's called = awesome

The American cover art for the second one is pretty bad, though.

From what I've seen, people who actually like Legends are in the minority. Most that I've come across, especially those who were already big Mega Man fans before Legends came out, really hate the game, mostly on the basis that it's practically nothing like all the Mega Man games that came before it. Capcom may have been better off just releasing it as its own stand alone game, unrelated to any other franchise.

Megaman Legends 1 & 2 are the only "modern" Megaman games I like. I like MMX & MMX2 the most, MMX3 & X4 are okay,. Then I like Megaman 1-3 on Nes. I couldn't really care if Capcom ever made any of those other Megamans besides those. Still...it's a popular franchise, so people will continue to buy them.

I loved the shit out of the Legends titles. They look great for the era, and hold up better visually than most PSOne titles. I do remember their being control issues with the first game, which have probably caused the game to age somewhat poorly. But I haven't played it since it came out so this is me randomly conjecturing.
Legends 2 fixed some of the control problems, but it mucked with the structure a bit (no interconnecting labrynth) and the story took a turn for the weird, too Xenogearsy. I remember it feeling much darker overall too.
Still, I actually cared about the story/characters in these, which is far more than I can say for the X or Zero games.

Yeah, I found that I really enjoyed the characters from Legends, especially Tron and Teasle(sp?)

Succubus, every MM fan I've met has been cursing Capcom for not making a third Legends game, and I've met alot. Anyway, I'm one of them, and I really hope Capcom'll localise the PSP emulated ones.

Never played the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, so I'll ask is it like Megaman Legends?

I've never played MM Legends but I have nothing but praise for the Misadventure's of Tron Bonne. It's one of capcom's most unique and ambitios games. Pretty adictive and their are many diffrent game modes.

Never played the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, so I'll ask is it like Megaman Legends? ....kinda? It's been years since I played it, so don't quote me. But it's a handful of mini-games, like five I think. At least one of them is a dungeon crawling action stage a la MML. Another was a box pushing game (which was actually pretty fun for what it was.) I forget the rest though.
