Thanks for sharing, Corsair.
Man that Boba Fatt from Gamepro was always such a sauerkraut. His ratings for Deception 2 clash with the review, and I can't stop laughing at calling the Xenogears soundtrack "annoying Irish-inspired music". He'd never get away with saying something like that these days.

...You know, for some reason I find it hilarious to see those Portal Runner previews and notice how they had all these obviously pre-rendered images passed off as in-game screenshots.

...so no one really knows why Gamefan's so hard to find scans of? i've been building a decent collection of them myself, if it wouldn't cause their destruction & i was more capable, i'd love to scan & share them online.

Someone posted this from RetroMags earlier in the thread: I doubt Halverson would call up his lawyers if you scanned a page or two, but entire issues seem to be verboten.

Wow, that Shadowrun preview shows a shot from the ending. That's kinda surprising.

I grew up reading imported UK (and some US) magazines, and I've had subscriptions for several years on Total! and Super Play. Scans of the latter are pretty easy to find, but I would love to read Total! again, which was a UK Nintendo only magazine with a quirky design style and a nice sense of humour. Officially, there were only two staff writers which were represented as pixel art caricatures, usually spoofing the games they were reviewing. A lot of effort must have gone into those, they were great. However, the writing style could be pretty 'laddish' and juvenile at times, more so as time went on. Still not nearly as bad as C+VG or Mean Machines, which were downright trashy, even though they did cover interesting material. Anyone know where I can find Total! scans? EDIT: Found a couple here. It's only a couple of issues (and then mostly newer style ones, which suck) but hey.
