A FAIR BIT OF WARNING
So it seems someone has started uploading most of the list to YouTube. I only say most of the list because some of the songs have been replaced by seemingly random songs, and some others play the wrong version or a different song from the same game. So be mindful that the list does have errors if you go searching for what's hot in the land out east. Still, it's as good as those that don't use NicoNico will get for now.

Meh, that's a pretty awful list. Extremely lacking in variety in terms of games/series and genre, and it's way skewed toward games released in the last several years. I'm guessing the people voting aren't big VGM fans/collectors. They seem more like random kids naming their favorite songs in RPGs.

I mean, where's Mega Man? Where's Castlevania? These are games KNOWN for having excellent music, and not a single track in the top 100?

I don't think it's an awful list - there's a few songs in there I've never heard of and are quite good. Like any voting, the choices are indicative of the community. Some place like here has a big retro crowd, so they're more likely to consider older music, which is why something like Mega Man 2 placed so highly in our last poll. I'm assuming this is from a general 2ch board, so it would make sense that the votes aren't as broad. Plus, new releases do tend to get a lot of votes, because they're fresh in people's heads.

That Last Armageddon theme is cool. But curse you Daddy Mulk!

The only real surprise is that that Romancing SaGa 2 battle theme that became memetic for being fan-remixed 10,000 times didn't make the list at all.

Even so, glad to see so, so, so much SaGa love.

SaGa always had the best music.

It takes a lot of time to compile, so I want to make sure there's sufficient interest. If there's demand for it, then sure.

Would be interesting to see what if any changes there are from last time. But yeah, I'm sure compiling that eats up time like nothing else.

I do like Daddy Mulk, but yes I do think it's not the best Zuntata's ever done. I always really liked Night Striker's BOSS 6

But yes, in pretty much every ranking they've done there's always been a lot of new release placing really high, then dropping off the face of the Earth. A good example is my #1 song, WE'RE THE ROBOTS from Mega Man 9. Place 41st in the 4th ranking after it was released, and not a single vote in the 5th ranking. Thank god it's back up to ~300 in this ranking, or I'd cry buckets...

I'd say I were surprised that songs like SILVER LINING and Pursuit from GK2 are still on here, actually, considering those two were so high last year because of hype votes. Then again, one is Yousuke Yasui (see YO-KAI Disco, which has been popular forever) and the other is one of a series of six songs, of which four of the six are 1000+ and the other two are just above 2000.

But yeah, I am actually surprised at some songs I've loved for years now because I've heard them through these rankings that are literally unknown to the American audience. MEGALOMANIA and Last Armageddon's battle theme is to a lesser extent here since they both actually have had a small following I've seen, but songs like DO-OR-DIE that are absolute gems but no one has ever heard it before...

Since I missed the ranking you guys ran here, I would love to participate in another one should another one be run. Also, I'll probably be adding up to 200 to the list sometime tonight or something, I only had a little bit of time to do the Top 100 and I think it'll be more interesting to add a bit at a time. For torture and stuff
