I compiled another version of the game that shows Kal's artwork in motion. It's still rough - it's missing walking-downward animations, and the talking animation wasn't done, so I hacked one together. Due to the way the interface is displayed, it's also basically unplayable after the first room. www.hardcoregaming101.net/columbus/columbus-goodgraphics.zipHere's his rendition of Santiago, the town overrun by beavers, though I think I'm missing the file that actually shows the beavers.

I dig the new art style! Always liked the MS-Paint look but knew it would be tough for people to get behind.

Great game. I noticed a glitch. As the Italian Idiot I am, like Columbus (thought I am southern), I went to stuff my lovable rabbit in the hole AFTER I got the telescope... I forgot why. The game wouldn't progress so I reloaded my saved game. There was also an issue with the game show where I couldn't get the wiener dog from the stand so I could get the notes. I forgot what sequence I did to make that not happen. Now how to find something, beside my rabbit, to dump into that beer hole... impossible!
The whole charm of the game is the story. Though the game looks nicer redone it doesn't have the same appeal as the "cruder" version, which is the one I prefer.

Oh! Didn't try that bit with the rabbit after getting the telescope! Time for a bugfix, thanks for the heads up.
To get the weiner dog to move, you need to build up a static shock three times, then pet him. You already get one from walking across the carpet. I've been thinking of reducing this to two static shocks just because it's such a weird puzzle. There is an alternate solution to this, but it requires that you've already completed a good portion of the Don Quixote quest.
You're in the right direction with the rabbit and the beer hole...just thinking of some old Pepe Le Pew cartoons...

Haven't touched this game in like two years, felt like replaying it, recording it and doing a little bit of commentary. Discusses its influences, what worked and what didn't. Just the first part of Act 1 so far (up until you finish talking to the Queen.) I let the dialogue run through so it ended up being nearly 30 minutes in length. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SbOvqxN_n8

I downloaded this years ago and only now found it and played it. I love the humor and mspaint sprites. I know it's probably dead, but would love to see more
