The Japanese cover is just as guilty. Kid Niki = Goku Wow, and he's even wearing (unintentionally?)orange, making his clothes look even more like Goku's than the original pictures

Is it just me or does the guy on the right look like Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver)? I kind of had that impression too, but I wasn't sure.

Not sure, but it does look like Sting. With a beard, of course.

I had a thought: should we have some place to put images we think may have tracing in them, but can't tell? Cause occasionally I will find a picture that seems like it should be traced, but due to my limited knowledge of stuff like Frazetta and Vallejo, can't identify it. But I don't really want to keep posting everytime i see something that may or may not be traced. Any suggestions? I keep separate folders with images I can't identify based on what I think it might be traced from; e.g. Fantasy, real people, classical art works, etc. Then I occasionally browse the folders to keep them fresh in my mind. I have about 1,000 images that are potential traces (give or take, there are duplicates if I think it could be equally from more than one category) I've had that 'Zero Gravity' picture for a while, but I just found the Michael Whelan picture today. I might have passed it by if I hadn't had the first saved and viewed multiple times. I also started gathering prominent artists' images so if I find a picture that looks traced I can flip through quickly to potentially identify it. I found the origin of that dying angel on the Duel picture. It's somewhat surprising, cause it's a picture that's been on the article since it was first published. It's from the bowman picture by Frazetta. It boggles my mind that it is so easy to miss background characters like that. The same thing happened with this one: I had that one for a long time, too. And I was sure I saw it somewhere. Was it a music album? A movie poster? Nope. Just an image that has been posted a dozen times by now and I never made the connection.

Just an image that has been posted a dozen times by now and I never made the connection. I'm still somewhat amazed you found that. Boggles the mind. May as well ask you about this one I have at the moment. The Astynax, as previously featured in the feature, rips off a Frazetta for a cutscene/ending: But the game has two other cutscenes as well. They don't seem as obviously traced as that one, but if they ripped off something for one of the cutscenes, I think there's a good chance they did for these two. Any idea?

Just looked through my artist folders; couldn't match either of them, sorry. Doesn't mean they aren't Frazetta, though. I'm sure I don't have all his works. Hell, today I found twenty more I didn't have yet. Or they could be someone else completely. Or not traced at all...But if you blatantly trace one image, you probably have no qualms about tracing the rest, too.

Maybe the girl was ripped from something else?

Possible (likely) Conan/Frazetta/Vallejo cover here. And the female pose on this cover seems very familiar to me: Another rip off of The Magnificent by the Amiga game Cobra. The girl on the cover of Death Bringer is from the same Vallejo picture used for Pirate Adventure. Is the guy a modified version of the guy in the other picture? Or from something else? Another MC Escher style cover:
