We sometimes cover XBLIG in depth, and this is one which I had a lot of fun playing through. Think Super Metroid meets Portal, albeit in 2D and with some tweaks. After a lot of player complaints, and after this was written, David Johnston has announced an easier version with a Normal (easier) mode, and a Hard (original) mode. So the write up here was done with the Hard mode. I think it's a bit ridiculous that critics complained about it, since the blue energy balls you collect allow you to "buy" the solution to puzzles, where the game shows you how to do them. I mean, how much easier do you want it? It basically has a "WIN BUTTON" to begin with. Ahh well. What's done is done, and the new version due out any day will have easier puzzles. www.hardcoregaming101.net/gateways/gateways.htm

Thanks for the heads up on this. Just picked it up off of XBLIG. Nice to find more XBLIG titles that are worth a darn. Lootfest looks like it could be a lot of fun, too....but it'll be a bit before I get around to checking it out.

I was waiting to see if this was going to be a flash sale on Steam, but it looks not. So: you have about eighteen hours to get it for three bucks. store.steampowered.com/app/216290
