So does anyone have the 360 version of this game over here? It's really awesome when you get two really good players who know what they're doing playing it, but I keep getting owned by Japanese players and I'd like to practice/teach others about it. If you're confused by the video, I cobbled together a guide not too long ago about it. It's going to get a major update sometime within the next two months or so. If you do have the game and want to test your skill with me, my gamertag is IaMP.

No, but it looks interesting. I'll have to look into it sometime.

The best description I can come up with this game is to take Virtual On, remove the jumping, allow you to stop your dashes after attacking, have both players share the same screen instead of having seperate ones, and then throw a lot of bullets/shmup mechanics into the fray.

Is it region free?
Leaving region coding in the publishers' hands is so silly, OBVIOUSLY they'll never make something region free if they're more than a two person company because of the potential of a game being ported to another region.

Nope, it's not. I have a suspicion that perhaps the ESRB has something to do with that since every game that seems to be released over in the United States first for the 360 that wasn't planned to be a BIG HIT or LAUNCH TITLE (Rumble Roses XX, Dead Rising) tends to work on JP 360s as well. Anyway, can you just believe I bought the Korean version of this game just for all of those postcards? I will now have two copies of this game from two different regions now. =\

The rumblings over at various forums indicate that G.REV may have been in talks with a few American publishers, hence the lockout.
Actually, almost every Japanese game that I know of that hasn't been released here is region protected. Kinda lame on their end, it reeks of the stereotypical attitude that gaijin aren't worthy of their games.
Oh well. I played in Chinatown Fair once without knowing what it was (hooray for shady lighting, I couldn't even read the marquee), and it was kinda interesting. Then they got rid of it almost immediately.

Actually, almost every Japanese game that I know of that hasn't been released here is region protected. Kinda lame on their end, it reeks of the stereotypical attitude that gaijin aren't worthy of their games. Those two could also be two other reasons. An interesting note is that G.Rev said specificially on their site before it was released on the 360 that they had no control over the decision of making it region-free. They obviously do know a lot of their game sales comes from people like us importing their titles. Anyway, if you can't afford a Japanese 360 and this game at the moment, there's been people raving about Acceleration of Suguri, which apparently looks like it was inspired by Senko no Ronde, but has different rules to it. Unfortunately, I am unable to play this game at the moment because something happened to the cooling mechanism to my desktop's CPU and I need to fix it or else it'll end up randomly crashing on me due to it overheating. Anyway, here's the movie for it. The demo can be found here.
