Even attempting to play this game a couple years back made me want to tear my eyes out, especially with the 'QUALIFY' move limits.
Even my then-roommate, who was much smarter than I am, blew a few brain circuits trying to figure the concept.

Yeah, it's surprisingly difficult. I did manage to beat every puzzle legit during my playthrough, but a couple here and there were 1 or 2 over the Qualify limit, simply because SCREW IT I GIVE UP. The whole bomb/bonus thing was annoying, too. Basically just resulted in me saving my game, scrolling through letters until I found both, jotting down what they were (since they never change), then resetting and playing through with foreknowledge of both. I don't consider it cheating, either, as it's really the only strategy that made sense. It was a gameplay element that just... didn't seem all that well thought-out, in an otherwise VERY well thought-out game. -Tom

What do you know about the development, Tom? Was this an SCEJ thing, or a small indie team funded by SCEJ?

I know absolutely nothing, I'm afraid. I just saw this game appear on PSN one day and thought it sounded kinda neat, so I took a risk and spent the 600 yen to check it out. And do not regret that decision in the slightest. (I've since managed to track down a physical copy of it as well, which I also highly recommend due to the lovely manual and disc art.) I know that one of the startup logos says it was developed(/produced?/published?) by +d games, though. Get it? Add-D? Get it?! -Tom

By the way, if anyone's interested in seeing a liiiittle bit more of this game, my video and the fan-translation video aren't QUITE the only two on YouTube... there's also this video of the opening, which is tough to find since it's listed under the misspelled name "To Maze From Addie":
Not the greatest opening in the world, but shows off a bit more of the game's excellent 3D modeling, as well as some nice character art.

Can only play this through emulation. Would the beetle retroarch core work for this one?
