I used to play on Mame Kaillera years ago a lot, but haven't in a while. I don't even know if anybody still does, or if nowadays everything revolves about Xbox Live and/or arcade compilations with online capabilities. So, anybody up for some 2D fighting/beat'em-up action through MAME? If there's something better, I'll install it, but I don't have an Xbox 360 or PS3.

I'm in for some SF2T or SFA3. Very nice. I also play pretty much anything SNK, Capcom, and Konami beat'em-ups (4-player TMNT!) I think if a bunch of people are interested we can trade instant messenger IDs and take it from there.

How about GGPO? I frequently play Alpha 2 & 3 on that.

Sounds good. As long as the thousands of miles of Atlantic between us don't cause horrible lag I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, I have no problem installing anything as long as it does run on my computer. I think we should decide what software is the best, and then have everybody install the same thing along with some form of instant messaging to keep track of who's online and who isn't. Does that sound good?

I play GGPO with people from Korea and Brazil on the regular, so I don't think location's an issue.

I don't know, but I think I might move this thread to the main section for better visibility.

GGPO is a program that uses arcade emulation to play with other people online. Google's your friend.
It has Alpha 2, 3, Last Blade 2, Garou, Dungeons & Dragons, Marvel VS Capcom, all kinds of cool stuff.

I'd be down for some cool beat-em-up action! I'm no good at fighters, so I don't really think that'd work out, haha.

In this case I think he means "beat em up" as European for "fighting."

Well, GGPO does have Dungeons & Dragons, so there is some traditional beat'em'up.

I utilize GGPO and 2DFighter for online competition. If anyone's interested to take on me, shoot me a PM.
