The sections on the movies and cartoons? You can thank a lot of people for those. Watching those was very much a group effort. I'm sure nobody would have the endurance to bother by themselves. X(

This really is incredible. Going through every last Mortal Kombat game is no small feat. Writing up bios on every character and studying the storyline enough to make sense of it couldn't have been easy either.
I've played a lot of the games in the article (including, unfortunately, Mythologies). Some of the games are really underrated and often dismissed just for being Mortal Kombat, which isn't very nice. I'm very glad to see an article covering the series and really going in depth on all the little cool things in the series that tend to get glossed over (Puzzle Kombat, some really good ports, that kind of stuff)
Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but the Midway Arcade Treasures port of MK3 has a fun little "the making of" video that comes with it. It's got interviews with various cast and crew members, including some of the actors who played the characters in the series.

It should be noted that the Mortal Kombat cartoon was actually on USA Network and not UPN.

Only had a chance to quickly look at the TV show section, but wow, the author was really harsh towards Mortal Kombat: Conquest. Ultimately I understand that not everyone is gonna share the same tastes, but the small section on it comes across as extremely negative, IMO. I actually think the comparison to shows like Hercules and Xena is apt, as (Before said shows started to get a bit to silly and melodramatic in their later years) they were a similar "action show" genre. As far as character continuity is concerned...yes its a little annoying that some characters weren't EXACTLY the same as the game, but given the setting, think it was actually a good idea, as at least it gives the viewer/fan some recognizable characters, and ultimately that its set so far in the series past, you could easily just say "those are the same versions of the characters to appear in the game many many many years later". But I really liked the fact that you got two fights per episode, and that it WAS a martial arts/fighting based series, and one that took itself seriously. I generally prefer shows that do, as I'm not really a big fan of shows (Outside of comedies) trying to be too "meta" or wanting to have a lot of sneaky *nudge nudge wink wink* crap going on. If you enjoy action shows, I think MK:C is a MUCH better program than the article makes it out to be. I kinda wish the article was a little more subjective/neutral, but at the end of the day *shrugs* opinion be opinion

Only had a chance to quickly look at the TV show section, but wow, the author was really harsh towards Mortal Kombat: Conquest. That's not my problem with Conquest, really. Now, it could be that I need to watch more of it, to see where it picks up, but my problem with is it that it was just boring, really. I mean, there just feels like there's entirely too much of the characters sitting around and talking, or angsting, and not really enough action. But that's just me.

That's cool man, like I said in an edit of my post, at the end of the day, not every show is gonna appeal to every person

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is somewhat of an odd beast, especially since there's no all-encompassing version amongst the CD and N64 versions. They try to bring back every stage background throughout the series (seriously, more games need to do this), but there's a couple that each version lacks (CD ports have the Bank and MKII Arena, N64 has Noob's Den and many other exclusive alts). The N64 version also cuts a little bit of animation frames merges both Sub-Zeros into the masked Ninja form with all the available attacks but only his UMK3 fatalities. Human Smoke also has to be unlocked instead of being default. I believe N64 does have a few exclusive character fatalities like one where Scorpion summons dozens of clones to gang up on his victim.
It should also be noted that there are multiple revisions of the PS1 version to fix the multitude of bugs and infinites, none of which run on PS2 or PS3. The Saturn port lacks transparencies and it a bit of a botched port.
Honestly I don't know why any of the later MK teams try to rerelease/update Trilogy amongst the Kollections just to be more Komplete. I guess it's just easier (lazier) to just dump the arcade roms.

As a huge fan of the series I find this article outstanding! Now all you need is a time machine so you can go back to 1995 and see the live tour (which I dont believe was never released on tape or anything).
Also, Raiden has been played by both Christopher Lambert and Clancy Brown? Thats a hellofa coincidence.

Chameleon's bio should have eightH(!)pallette swap. I loved the Lex Luthor biography. Thank you for explaining what the hell a dial-a-combo is. Bothered me for years. In the ultimate Kombat Kode section you have "each containing a symbol that chat changes when you hit one" I'm not sure what the chat means?
Also, I always thought Mortal Kombat Trilogy was 3. And that the series had stopped with it until Armageddon. When I saw that it had every character so far, I was confused as all hell to who half these people were....

Hmm, I'll poke at some of the typos later. All of the ellipses have been mojibake'd.
Didn't Sonya appear as a damsel-in-distress in Special Ops?

Well I finished it and it is a really good article. I never really knew a whole lot about Mortal Kombat 4, and it was kind of neat learning about that and MK vs. DCU. As I mentioned earlier I thought the whole damn thing ended with Trilogy (And Street Fighter was done with Alpha 3. Imagine discovering Third Strike cold turkey! I envy anyone who didn't get to do that). I guess you seemed kind of harsh on Armageddon, it was fun enough, but in hindsight it sucked compared to the reboot. Which as I mentioned elsewhere on the boards I'm not a big fan of either. It was pretty fun to read about Mortal Kombat II which was most of the bonding between me and my buddy. Although fun fact, if you use the cheat menu on Mortal Kombat II you change Dan Forden into this creepy MS Paint thing. Scared the hell out of me. My buddy thought it would be hilarious whenever I went to use the bathroom to go put Player 1 invincible and uppercut me. So I couldn't hurt him and that...thing showed up.

Watching those was very much a group effort. I'm sure nobody would have the endurance to bother by themselves. X( I actually did watch Annihilation on my own... at double speed, with the audio on mute. Doing other stuff and capturing a screenshot every once in a while. Actually wasn't too bad to sit through that way. In the ultimate Kombat Kode section you have "each containing a symbol that chat changes when you hit one" I'm not sure what the chat means? Looks like the "that" and the "changes" somehow mated, resulting in their lovechild "chat". Hmm, I'll poke at some of the typos later. All of the ellipses have been mojibake'd. Oh, looks like another word-to-html issue, replaced them with three normal period characters each.
