Thanks. Yeah the money has already been refunded and PlayStation said my account will be back in 3-5 days. Not too bad. I don't play online stuff. Just have to watch my anime on my fire stick or Switch.

A week of impulse buys for me. I am now the proud owner of a Model 1 Sega CD and a Dreamcast. Except I have no games for either. Dreamcast looks like there some affordable stuff up for grabs on ebay. While the market for Sega CD games are either nosebleed expensive, or $40 bootleg repros. But damned if that Genesis and Sega CD combo doesn't look nostalgically cool, sitting on the shelf. Would you happen to know Japanese? Most of the retro Sega stuff is a lot less expensive in Japan. And their 2nd hand market is amazing, when they state "fine" condition the game comes like it was freshly picked from the tree that grew it. I'm not fluent enough to do a visual novel or complex RPG, but I do have a fair import collection. Is the Sega CD not region-locked? I'm pretty sure Dreamcast has a region-lock over it. You're not kidding about Japan's 2nd hand market. I recently picked up a complete-in-box Breath of Fire and Final Fantasy VI for Super Famicom. I would definitely call it very good. At least for Super Famicom and Mega Drive generation games. I have a few Famicom carts, like Final Fantasy 2 and The Goonies, where a kid's name were written in ink over the back and the sides of the cartridge.

The Sega CD is region locked; if you have an Everdrive cartridge, though, you can load another region's Mega CD BIOS and that will work to bypass the lock. It does not, however, have any protections against CD-Rs, so if you really really want to play Snatcher, you totally can, assuming you know a place to download it. =P

I own it, but hadn't played it since I already finished the game on PSP years ago. I installed it to test, though also in Wine (albeit on Linux rather than MacOS). The speed seems quite good to me. I recorded a quick test video which you can use to see if it matches your experience: I found the text aspect ratio looked way off though (not shown). It was about half as high as it should have been, I'm using Wine 4.19 for what it's worth.
Thanks so much! Seems like it is running at the right speed at 30 FPS. Guess I was expecting it to play a smidge slower. Weird that text was at half height for you; it's the right size for me, but I'm using 2.22. I have the newest one, but I prefer using Wineskin (which never officially supported 3.0+) as it allows the installation to act as an application with a default executable instead of popping up a Terminal window after doing some configuration behind the scenes. That wouldn't be an issue except I use a non-standard login shell (fish) so I have to change it and then change it back any time I use the official version.

Good job, PR department. You knew very well that briefly showing someone looking at bookpages depicting Third Strike's Dudley's animation frames would fill me with infinite confidence in the team, didn't you... That's like, my Achilles' heel.

The ironic thing about having the system is that, there isn't really that much in the game catalogue I want to actually play or own. So far, Cobra: The Space Adventure, Vay, Switch, and Annet Futatabi stand out to me.

Love the Model 1 Sega CD with the Model 1 Genesis. Have you considered also buying the 32X as well, to complete the full Sega Tower of Power? You'll also have the "privilege" of playing those six amazing Sega CD 32X games like Slam City with Scotty Pippin and Corpse Killer.

www.twitch.tv/hiddenpalace/Sonic 3 proto found and currently playing. Most shocking thing? This build has PC version music, so far Knuckles theme is. Meaning they were possibly the original music for the game all along. EDIT 2: Drop dash (something Mania had) is apparently in this build too. EDIT 3: Carnival Night has PC version music. Yep this is the original music all along. wow. It sounds fine here actually I don't mind a remaster using this soundtrack. Gonna share youtube links of the music when it shows up.

Makes the theory that the three zones with different music in the PC version were the ones with the MJ connection even more likely, since they have the different music in this prototype too. Though I always found Marble Garden Zone a bit MJ-y too, for some reason. They're also the only songs that use samples, I think (along with Knuckles' theme).
Those 3 zones also have never been reimagined I believe, and I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong) those have ever had their themes remixed in a Sonic game. Sky Sanctuary and Mushroom Hill zones are in the two versions of Sonic Generations, Hydrocity, Lava Reef and Flying Battery zones are in Sonic Mania, and Angel Island zone has a remix in the Smash games.

www.youtube.com/user/sh2001/videosThis channel has the music. The best ones:: Too bad the PC version used MIDI versions, the arrangements sound terrible. Had they gotten these version all along I'm sure the reception been better. Not a music expert but some of the PC songs sound unfinished in some ways so maybe the current Sonic Team composers/Tee Lopes can remix the music for a remaster. I love how we have new questions to ask. Were they making additional music just in case the MJ deal didn't work out? Of the replaced songs, Ice Cap turned out to be an 16bit intrumental of the Jetzon's unreleased song "Hard Times" and Brad Buxer is indeed credited for Sonic 3. Ice Cap has an entirely different issue apart from MJ. The others though, MJ's touch clearly reached. According to this article MJ made demos of his beatboxing. Unclear if Carnival, Launch Base etc are songs he actually composed or rather just heavily sampled or supervised. Not sure what happened to the actual songs he worked on after being displeased by the work. However, this itself has many questions. If MJ removed himself from the project why were the songs still used? Surely he would have not wanted these songs in the final game. Even more suspecious is Sonic 3 was rereleased many times over the years but after his death Sega seems hesitate on re-releasing the game to multiple consoles. It is on Steam, at least. So yeah. These songs were reused for the PC port in 1997. That's 3 or so years after Sonic 3 came out. It is neat they kept these songs around. Not the first time they done this either. Apparently the Sonic 3 Blue Sphere song was found in the unreleased SegaSonic Bros arcade game. It could be possible they had these songs at SEGA for years just in case too.

A few random Pokémon Sword/Shield thoughts:
* Random battles are basically gone which I do like. Pokémon spawn out of tall grass like in Let's Go, but there's also "hidden" battles where you just get an "!" and can't see what it is. There might still be actual random battles occasionally, but I can't tell if it's just because something just happened to spawn underneath me. The only indoor "cave" so far has only had visible Pokémon.
* The Wild Area is okay. It's divided into two main sections with a narrowish part in between and many named areas within them. Different parts target different levels so it's a place you can go back to repeatedly. Each area has its own weather (and Pokémon) which can be a little odd when you go from sun to rain to hail. I don't mind too much since weather effects don't generally get much use in single player. The strong Pokémon that wander about will absolutely destroy you if you aren't ready for them.
* I really don't like that what you can catch is tied to the number of badges you have. By the first gym, all the Pokémon I had where near or above level 25 which is the new maximum after that gym. What really stinks in particular is that the beginning of the narrow section of the Wild Area is full of stuff I wanted to catch that starts at level 26. I did grind a little bit, but I just want my damn Cutiefly!
* I think hacked Pokémon are already being Surprise Traded (the new name for Wonder Trading). There's supposed to be safeguards against that, but I got an Axew that just seemed off to me. It was supposedly Japanese, but had the English name; they keep the foreign name when traded even if it's in a different character set. More strangely though is that it had a catch date of 12/31/17! I just passed it along for someone else to deal with. I probably should have just released it though.
* Plot seems very background so far. You get a little taste of it at the beginning, but there's been little since then.
* I think the graphics look pretty good for the most part. They're clearly optimized for battery life which has been pretty good overall although not as good as Let's Go.

If you move fast it can seem as if things spawn right under your feet, but I found that there's always opportunity to dodge anything if you look out.
I didn't really care too much for the wild area at first either, but I've been coming back to it a couple times now that I'm at the town with the 6th gym. I didn't run into any trouble yet with not being able to catch higher-leveled Pokémon. I can catch up to 45 now, but none of my Pokémon are that high yet. I have been catching a bunch of random stuff just to fill up the dex.
I haven't dome that many raid battles in the wild area yet, though. I wonder how they determine who gets to gigantamax their pokémon.
Anyway, I'm enjoying the game. A lot of the new designs are really wild this time around, and there's some good surprise twists on older species. The fossils this time around are brilliant.
