Apparently After Burner II's supposed to be out this Thursday on the US 3DS e-shop. Totally stoked for this, and I can't wait for the Fantasy Zone release.

The european 3DS virtual console has been very quiet for over a month now. I think the last games released were Shadow of the Ninja and S.C.A.T and that was december 4th... Weird.
But yeah, just checked and After Burner 2 comes out here too, on thursday, or so it seems.
The only companies that seem interested in releasing VC games anymore are Sega, Capcom and Natsume. And I guess Nintendo, but I'm still missing games like Star Tropics. And where the hell is SquareEnix? I mean, really. Final Fantasy.... Seiken Densetsu 1...Dragon Warrior... Not to mention all those Taito games Squeenix are sitting on (Bubble Bobble, plz!)
I hope 2015 will fix that.

Oh you don't want the answer to Square's VC support. They have been hiding them Japan only. We don't get Bubble Bobble, Final Fantasy I-III (localized titling), Secret of Mana and even Mystic Quest. They haven't done much with Game Boy titles, oddly enough, it would be easy money to bring back "Adventure" and "Legend".
3D Classics are not part of Virtual Console, but instead part of considered abandoned line of remastering classics with 3D effect Nintendo started. Cannot blame the consumer not buying 3D Urban Champion. I do hope for more companies pitching in both 3D Classic and Virtual Console.

I was thinking.... Landstalker is a game in desperate need of a 3D Classic release. I think very highly of that game and even managed to beat it at the age of 13, but... man! Playing it today is pretty painful because of the isometric platforming. I am amazed I could sit through it back in the day. It probably took me 4-5 months to beat it though. Some of the dungeons are ridiculously large and tricky. King Nole's Labyrinth (the 2nd to last dungeon) was especially overwhelming. Not to mention Green Maze! I was lost there for literally weeks.
A nice 3D effect could MAYBE make the game less aggravating. And a map system. Everything else is already there: A superb world to explore (better than most Zeldas I can think of), beautiful isometric graphics, lovely character sprites, catchy soundtrack and great atmosphere.
I sometimes think about the cancelled PSP remake. It looked like it was going to have a camera you could rotate. I wonder if that proved to be too difficult to implement on the existing game world? It could very well make platforming even harder, cause Nigel could only jump in 4 directions anyway. I'm having a difficult time imagining how it would've worked...

The debate over getting Landstalker to have a stereoscopic 3D effect lies in how difficult applying the process is to isometric games of the period. Streets of Rage was chosen over 2 mainly because it would have been way tougher to finish 2's by-eye remake satisfactorily, and under a deadline. If M2 returns and make a new slate of GigaDrive release, maybe strong fan communication with Okunari could reveal more about what he and the studio would have to accomplish. I'd absolutely love to play Landstalker with a 3D effect, expandable automap, Takenouchi's original audio files as heard in the album release (extra percussion + more advanced sounds not in the game), and uncensored dialogue/bathtub scene in every version.

And, I'm sad it won't happen here.

Not exactly sure where I'm supposed to go to introduce myself, but I wanted to say how much I'm eagerly anticipating OutRun 3D on this 3D Classics releases. I'm debating on upgrading my 3DS XL to the New 3DS XL, but my digital purchases are going to have to be transferred over this time, I have too much to lose.

I just pre-ordered the Monster Hunter 4 Edition New 3DS XL. So, so pretty And welcome! Also, did you frequent OC ReMix? Your name looks mighty familiar.

I'm getting a N3DSXL as well, if only for Xenoblade. I'm just curious how you would transfer your eShop purchases from the old SD card to the new micro SD. Before, you would have to insert the card into the new device at some point, right? That won't work anymore.

Maybe by using Nintendo ID's somehow? Something, I'm rather curious about myself. Kind of makes me wish Nintendo would stop tying all of that to your system.
