Then again, Kotaku does have Patricia Hernandez. Going by her posts, she's a drug using, polyamorous furry which...what the hell does that have to do with games and game news? At least Tim Rogers hasn't made any posts in a long while. It doesn't have to be Tim Rogers to be completely insufferable. They still publish those patronizing "Ask Dr. Nerdlove" columns, and then there's that one article that was entirely just the author talking about how he had sex on Sonic the Hedgehog bedsheets. I forgot about that. If there is anything most people here aren't aware of it's that I hate nerds. They're mostly insufferable twats. I've been to a handful of conventions and just listening to them argue is just inane. And then the internet makes it worse with everyone so wrapped up the label of nerd. And then everything they say is either about how much nerd cred they have or how they defy the stereotypes of being a nerd. I've just wanted to grab them by their collective collars and shake them and shout, "You are people! You are allowed to be three dimensional! Please start doing that!" I know that probably belonged in not this thread, but dammit. I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a very long time. As for the topic, I use RPGFan and Escapist. RPGFan because they cover RPGs and that's what I play primarily. Escapist because they seem like actual news, rather then long ass editorials. Well they do the latter, but they have actual gaming news.

You hate nerds, yet you hang around this place? Okay.

You hate nerds, yet you hang around this place? Okay. I didn't even realize we were allowed to have differing opinions.

As long as your Thought Regulation Implant isn't causing you horrible agonizing pain, you're within acceptable bounds.

I actually 100% agree with The Great Klaid regarding the hatred for nerds. I know I'm guilty of some of the things he mentioned, but it doesn't mean I'm very tolerant of watching people argue over some stupid minutiae like why one should hyphenate 'Spider-man' or 'Star-Lord'.

I'm guilty of some of it too. I just about typed a bit in my rant where I was saying I do nerdy stuff with girls, but that seemed to smack of hypocrisy and one day I want to talk about nerds and women, but it's not a can of worms I feel like opening up right now. And I've mentioned the reason I stick around here is because we're normal people talking about nerd stuff. As opposed to people who make some of these things their lives. Also, everything I say should probably have 'in general' mentally added, as I have a habit for hyperbole. Not that it excuses my nonsense, but it my defense.

So it's "us" vs. "them" then.
(For some arbitrary value of "us" and "them").

And people wonder why I don't like to tell people that I'm a "gamer."

I don't like the word "gamer" because it was invented for marketing purposes. I am a "game player."
You don't see people going around calling themselves "moviers."

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Kotaku actually just mentioned HG101 in a post today.

Funny, my friend Kris from here in Fort Wayne writes for them & it's a good website. But like you said, it's not so much about the games as it is the business side of things.
