I'm looking forward to walking into their trap and making schlongs.

So yeah this is Smash and it's fun. Played it with 3 people on Friday and then my roommate and I did some co-op stuff later. Kinda disappointed that so many new characters have counter attack Down B's. Kinda disappointed in Shulk's moves all around. Seems highly similar to Ike actually but Ike is my main so I dunno. I like all the new modes a lot. Omega stages are pretty sweet because I can play on the Mega Man stage and not have to deal with the Yellow Devil.

I appreciate this but for real Shulk does kind of suck. I was looking forward to him the most, but his moves seem to have really awfully narrow hitboxes, and his Back Slash attack probably killed me more times than it did anything good because I miscalculated how far you move and ended up throwing myself off the edge. Ironically, this is the worst on Shulk's own stage.

I did have to stop playing him once my friend got too good with Marth because goddamn is that ever an uphill battle. I can't really tell of they made him better in this game or not.

It's my understanding that they gave everyone better opportunities to go for the kill. Which is why I either played Ike or Roy instead of Marth. But, hot damn he's tricky in this game. Well, actually I'm speaking mostly from fighting Lucina. I don't see many differences, but my buddy insists she's so much faster.
And it is a pity about Shulk. I was kind of looking forward to a new Swordsman, to have as another alt, when I didn't feel like Link or Ike. However Pac-Man and Bowser Jr. are so much fun. So it balances out.

The general consensus is that Marth has been nerfed and Ike got buffed. However, I'm not really feeling Ike in this one either. I do have to say that Lucina is much better than Marth.
Shulk is great, though. When you activate his Buster arts, you can do so much damage, it's crazy. Switch to the Smash arts and one hit'll kill them, even a simple counter will do. Easily the best newcomer, IMO.

I don't have a WiiU or 3DS, but did they do much with Sonic? I know he was kinda bad in Brawl.

Sonic was buffed. Most of his attacks have been powered up.
I still dislike his playing style, so I haven't played him much besides to clear Classic/Allstar/Smash Run.
At least I dislike him slightly less than in Brawl.

Yeah, I'm able to play as Sonic now. So something happened there. And I don't know if Ike feels much different to me. He does maybe feel slightly less clumsy. But I've been playing Melee recently as opposed to Brawl. Roy was never that clumsy. On the other hand Link feels like he cannot move a couple of steps anymore.

Well, Roy was a Marth clone, wheras Ike is a completely different figher.
Ike is a bit faster in general this time around, but like I said, he's not clicking with me for some reason. I guess I'll try to get to know him some more in the Wii U version.
The general opinion on Link is that he's much better, and I agree on that. This time, I can actually enjoy playing as him, and don't have to stick to Young/Toon Link anymore, even though I still prefer Toon.

I got the wii u version but I only played like 15 minutes because it's been an actual literal decade since I played smash at all and I do not remember how to be good at this game. I'm gonna rearrange the hell out of my room after work then poke around the game to see if there's a mode meant to break people in to the game.
