Sonic Wii worries me. Isn't that the one that's almost entirely on rails?

Yes, and being fan of rail-based gameplay, if done right, it could be the best Sonic title since mega drive. I know the 360/Ps3 one surely isn't....

I still need to pick up the GBA games nothing beats good ol' 2d Sonic. I played them emulated but that's about it.
Sonic's at his best in 2d I have high hopes for Sonic Rivals
Wii Sonic is one of the reasons I want a Wii I'm still hoping they add sonic to Smash Bros Brawl too.

He won't be in Brawl you'd think, it'd be a crazy surprise but I'd expect them to advertise it, it'd be too big a thing not to. Maybe the next one.
Also Sonic is probably gay, Sonic CD proves it mostly, I honestly think he only ever rescues Amy as a side effect of defeating Eggman/Robotonk. Also I think they was something strange in Tails theme song that was pretty iffy.
2d sonic games are more fun, totally certainly but I think the 3d games do have at least some charm, it's not like they're bad games they just aren't really *sonic* games.

In her Defense Amy is a Creepy Stalker. In Adventure 2 Tails does orgasmically scream sonic when he dies and aren't there more characters to come in brawl?

You guys should really play Sonic Rush for the DS. Honestly it is the best sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles. The levels are a lot of fun and recapture that sense of speed that the series once had, some great music, an evolution of the Sonic 2 bonus level with the touch screen, and has some pretty neat boss battles. It's not perfect mind you (two characters that play the same but you have to beat the game with both to get to the last boss) but it is very good. Check it out. You thought it was the best since S&K? A lot of people have told me that. I found it really disappointing though. I don't know about anyone else, but Sonic was about way more than just running really fast to the right for me. Taking the time to discover all the secret areas; seeing how far I could push Sonic by taking mad run-offs and watching him fly; grabbing all the emeralds... The original games had an awesome physics engine... that's what makes Sonic feel like Sonic to me. Sega, the press, and the public in general seem to have this ill-conceived notion that all we did in the original games was Run. Yeah, Sonic was fast. Everyone knew that. But did everyone really play it that way? It would be impossible to finish many of the earlier Sonics *properly* by blasting through the stages, Left to Right, in this manner (the hidden rings in Sonic 3/ & Knuckles that led to the bonus stages; travelling back and forth in time to hunt down and destroy those Robotnik projector things in Sonic CD). The last good 2D Sonic game was the one for the NeoGeoPockett Color... it felt like a Sonic game, it looked like a Sonic game, and it was great. Almost like a 'best of collection' that payed homage to the themes, mechanics and levels of the original Mega Drive games. All since then feel totally alien to me (except Sonic R, which I love). The Advance series was a crushing disappointment. Sonic Adventure I am fond of, but each subsequent 3D edition was terrible. And Sonic Rush was proof to me, that Sega had finally lost the plot in regards to Sonic. Ok, I've rambled on a bit, but I get very cut over this issue. Most of the classic franchises that are still around to this day are still great for the very same reasons they were back in the day. New Super Mario Bros? Fantastic, Brilliant and all of the above. Castlevania? Going from strength to strength. Zelda; Final Fantasy the list goes on. Franchises and characters that have been around for a long time, and continue to deliver the goods. Sonic, on the other hand, not so much. Sega seem to be hell bent on butchering him, and in the process, seemingly trying to destroy the reputation even the original games had.

Possibly slightly embarrassing memory - I used to read the Sonic comics a lot when I was a kid. I have no idea how I started reading them, considering how I didn't even have a Genesis at the time, though I do remember playing the first Sonic at a cousin's house once or twice. But I do recall liking them quite a bit (and I actually think they're sitting around somewhere, I don't recall throwing them out at all). In any case, I didn't really get much of a taste of Sonic until I started collecting, so I don't have much nostalgia for the series, sorry. I'll just say that the original 2D games were all pretty good, and the 3D ones kinda varied in quality a bit (and I have to say I did not like Sonic Heroes, but that's another story). So...I'm not a nut or a huge fan of the series or anything, but you could easily do worse in liking it as a whole.
And Sonic and Tails as a couple? Hmmm...they do hold each other's hands often...
...when Tails flies! HAHAHAH...oh God, that was probably the worst joke I've ever made.
