Sonic: Hero or gay Hedgehog with fox fetish?

I gotta clean this up it sounds like I'm rambling.

The Sonic Series has a special place in my heart. My cousin and I used to slave hours playing sonic 2 and 3 I'd always be tails he'd be sonic.
More recently my friend tim who's like my surrogate little brother is like sonic obsessed and we bond over games of sonic Heros and The Adventure games. He's one of the reasons Sonic Next Gen is going to be one of my first 360 games.

Anybody else have fond memories with Sonic? Favorite Sonic game (sonic 3 and Knuckles) least favorite sonic (the game gear ones)

And Am I the ONLY one that thinks Sonic and Tails are more than friends?

I honestly never considered that Sonic and Tails were friends - I always figured that Tails was just a crazed fanboy that decided to follow Sonic everywhere. The two would later become work partners, but that's as far as it goes.

Sonic was fine until we got to the Adventure series.

Then it got gay. Really, really gay.

The Sonic fanbase is downright horrifying actually.

Well, they suffer from the TinTin syndrome. They are "life partners" that never meet any desirable female characters so everybody presumes that they are gay.
But that might chance with the new title, featuring that Final Fantasy type princess.

I feel that Sonic 2 was the best in the series, though the first game was also really good. They both pushed the Genesis while staying within its limitations. The graphics are colorful and plain, and the music is catchy with the instruments chosen well. Sonic 3 tried to pack too much detail into the graphics so it ends up looking a little grainy/busy and the redrawn Sonic sprite doesn't have the charm the older one has.

Sonic Adventure was pretty fun but in hindsight it's a pretty poor game. It's also where Sonic games started to have awful storylines put into them. I don't know what it is with Japan, but they take things that should not have storylines (Sonic, Bomberman) and start adding storylines to them. What's with trying to make Sonic serious?

Yeah, but Sonic's like, "leve me alone!" and the chicks are more anoying than sugar-goth type furries should be.

You guys should really play Sonic Rush for the DS. Honestly it is the best sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles. The levels are a lot of fun and recapture that sense of speed that the series once had, some great music, an evolution of the Sonic 2 bonus level with the touch screen, and has some pretty neat boss battles. It's not perfect mind you (two characters that play the same but you have to beat the game with both to get to the last boss) but it is very good. Check it out.

Im not one of those who say that Sonic's done for, I just think the series has hit a dry-spell.
Here's hoping that Sonic Wii, which promises just to focus on Sonic and speed, is going to get it on the right track.
And I've herd good things about Sonic Rush.
I'll probably pick it up along with a DS soon.
