does this mean phantasy star online 2 english translation? probably not but that is a shame given the sound of things I doubt it. Even a lot of English-speaking fans who like the idea of PSO2 don't want it to come over, because it likely wouldn't have all the licensed anime crossover items that the Japanese version had, and they "don't want a censored game". They're all playing it in Japanese, even if they can't read it at all.

Some are saying they're pulling out of console games development, but I'm not sure on that. Nope. Sega Japan is only downsizing arcades and Sega West is purely publishing and relocation. Worst thing for us is digital only, but Sega have been already doing that. So that means I'll get up ports of genesis games on ps4 right? ?

A western release would generate plenty of players, certainly enough to turn a steady profit. I actually have played the Japanese version, and it's one of the best F2P games around. Some of the diehard fans might complain about not getting the licensed events, but in the end more English-speaking people would be playing it and spending money than not. It could have been successful, and maybe even still could be, but it's obvious that it just isn't going to happen.

There is actually a fairly thurough translation patch for PSO2 that has continued to be worked on by a team pretty diligently. Which has only contirubted to western fans complantency. I've got a friend whos a PSO die hard and feels pretty much the same. I personaly don't care, I played it for a couple weeks and it seems to be a decent return to form after the disaster that was PSU but still, just can't really get into it. I've got way too many single player games I want to experience rather than dedicate a ton of time grinding in another online game. I may finally be done with MMOs in general really.

Nova is more my type of game over Online, but people say it's a companion to PSO2 so wouldn't help us will it?

If After Burner Climax is not available any more on XBLA...now that's a d&ck move. Happy to have bought it years ago, because I also have the IOS conversion, and not only is it very rough graphically, but the touch controls are, once again, inappropriate. The 2010 PSN/XBLA port is the definitive version of the game without discussion. A shame... Same story with Crazy Taxi (?), although in this case it must be said that the IOS port is...pretty awesome! Very playable, and nicely upscaled on Retina devices, plus 60 f/s... That one I can recommend.

I do not think that IOS crazy taxi port is available anymore well it is not on Android. A few weeks before removing on android they made it free but put ads into though I think playing with no net connection removes the ads no free to play crap was added or time limits though. They removed it from android for the new android game in the series thats free to play and is on rails and has hulk hogan in it for some reason.

I have both games actually. The real CT and the new product. I guess I will simply never delete CT amymore... It is not a big game. As for the new thing, maybe It is not a hateable product per se (gotta check how they try to make you pay), but if it forcefully takes the place of OG Crazy Taxi, then frack Sega. If that is their new company ethics, they are dead to me. EDIT: for the moment, the original Crazy Taxi runs as usual, without ads. I pray it remains the same, because it is a truly good game, and the new game is boring as frack. Not very optimistic here. Silver lining: just checked, and both games are still available on the Itunes Store. Maybe Apple's safeguards prevented Sega from doing the old switcheroo, I dunno. Well anyway, Congrats to Sega for dealing so smoothly with a transitional period. Some things never, ever change...

I've checked and it's still available, and not for free. The one they did seem to remove was House of the Dead: Overkill - The Lost Reels, on both iOS and Android.

Great. Another old, good japanese company focusing at smartphone games. Not good news at all. I hope it won't affect francises like Sonic to the point that we won't see again another Sonic game for consoles. I read that they had less than one million in cash on their own hands. I suppose this might explain why Sonic Boom was so super rushed. Maybe but Sega also has bad experience with rushed releases like Sonic '06 and Nights: Journey of Dreams in order to catch holiday seasons.
