Really hope it proves to be another hoax. Square couldn't find their own ass with a map and a flashlight at this point. I wouldn't trust them to remake Rad Racer, let alone FFVII. Oh my god. This is really happening? Fuck it. I'm 17 years old again, pre-ordering this game before I even own the system to play it on. This is kind of how I feel. I'm incredibly skeptical that Square has the ability to develop a good FFVII remake... I worry that they'll try to add that shitty villain they made up for Crisis Core into the main FFVII story, I worry that the game won't be finished until 2025, I worry that they'll try to modernize gameplay systems instead of leaving the classic mechanics intact. But despite all that I can't help but be very excited that this is actually happening.

I can't find myself really caring for it, but I am sort of annoyed that they decided to do it. Especially after fans were clamoring at the top of their lungs for it for years.
I really enjoyed the inaugural game, I loved it enough to play and beat it several times in a row and credit it as one of the major RPGs that got me into the genre, but I'm not getting excited over this anytime soon.

Directed by Tetsuya Nomura. This is the point of contention, for real. I expect Aeris's flowers to have belts and Barret's hair to have zippers.

Every outfit on every character, even the NPCs, must have belts and zippers on every single article of clothing. Shirts, jeans, jackets, shoes, heck, even underwear. Nothing is off limits. In fact, put belts and zippers on all the background objects. Make a town that's one huge zipper with houses made of belts. Even all the monsters will have belts and zippers on them.

Maybe they'll replace the meteor with a big zipper. That'd be an interesting twist. It's neat that they're doing this, but I don't really care. I felt that VII was okay back when I played it, but I never saw a reason to remake it other than to cash in on the hype that surrounds the game. I am curious to see how this turns out, though.

Nomura has been posting on this forum for all these years, and we never even guessed.

In all seriousness, though... even though this is going to completely ruin the whole point of her fate and everything, if they're going to do this, there must be a sidequest where you can revive Aeris and bring her back into the party.
But make it really, really, really hard. It has to be a reward that you can't simply walk up and take. If you want to bring her back, you've got to earn it. Even if it may turn off and aggravate many gamers.

Can't agree with that. Bad enough she keeps appearing to Cloud in visions in all of the spinoff material. I can't wait to see how the Golden Saucer dates work, though.

I know many won't and will even dislike the idea. In fact I expect to have bricks with death threats thrown through my windows and for half the world to hate me. But it can't hurt to stick it in there, maybe. I still say make it mega hard. Really super rage-inducing hard.

At least they'll most likely fulfill my teenage dream of Vincent being more of a character than a optional party member.

Was meh on this for a sec but then I watched that trailer. And then the excitement hit. The graphic update will really do the game good. VII is honestly the ugliest Final Fantasy. Hopefully they keep the ATB system rather than trying to integrate something else though.
Rumored that we still might see something Chrono Trigger related at E3 too. Will all the fans dreams come true? I'm hoping for some more news on handheld stuff. Final Fantasy Explorers and any Dragon Quest 3DS game would be nice.

I'm actually really hyped for this, and I'll be joining you in that pre-order line Jason (Albiet I own a PS4). I'm actually thinking they can do it, Final Fantasy 14 is continually great update after update and Cloud himself looked GREAT in that Dissida arcade game (And that was him in his awesome SOLIDER garb, not the crappy Advent children costume) I also really liked Tifa's design in Dissida 2PSP. If Sqare can pull this off...I think this will make them so much money. And I'll be happy to pay whatever my share is

Suddenly, Meteor Unzips and Crisis Core GACKT jumps out... "IT'S A MEEEEEEEEEEE!" And then his hair unzips and Lightning jumps out.
