Yeah, um, does anybody still actually want to talk about Undertale? I genuinely wonder how many games are going to try to capitalize on Undertale's popularity and try to recreate its gimmick. Certainly there will be a handful at least, and I wonder what the consequences of its storytelling mechanics will be in future titles. It seems like the kind of game that only really works once, and the creator said as much himself.

Damn, he actually planed it from the beginning ! Amazing how some idiots are spreading lies about gamers hating Undertale. The game has an active thread daily on /v/ and has produced tons original content that gets reposted on Tumblr.

Everyone just assumes that /v/ is awful now because it really is the worst board by a large margin. And fuck, I browse /tv/.

Most of the hate is from the vote brigading. Like every game out there, Undertale has fans, haters or don't care.

Mainly when a Tumblr fandom grew. If my years on 4chan has taught me anything, it's that adding "tumblr" to any sentence will cause at least one person to go completely insane. It's the new reddit, kickstarter, brony, furry, ect. It's amazing how people always choose something we should be critical of to mob on, creating this sides bullshit because people don't want to be lumped up with the vague stereotype of the other they dislike most. I'm still kind of annoyed by all the talk about how all kickstarters are scams or evil or killing videogames ect.

I have yet to play this game, I plan to when I have a PC that can run a game on STEAM (a 7 year old laptop ain't gonna cut it for me).
So people on GameFAQS are wanting to name this their all time favorite, what's the big deal? I guess I just don't get it.
As far as the term gamer, ugh. Why are people so hung up on whether it's okay to use this or not? Because NeoGaf and a few other people on social media don't like it cuz of some GamerGaters? Why are people so hung up on indentity? I play games, want to call me a gamer? Fine, whatever move on. It's better than "player" as I saw NeoGaf was tossing around, I think that has worse connotation.
I think that recent Penny Arcade strip called 'Validation syndrome' summed up my feelings on being "approved" by people who have no interest in gaming.

I think the whole anti-gamer-as-a-term mentality is due to some idiots on their journalistic high horses blaming the entire gaming community for supposedly enabling anonymous death and rape threats sent to some people in some controversy. Not to mention that they believe in this weird catch-22 thing where everyone can play games but they can't be gamers, wrap your head around that.

Equally, I don't understand why so many people were offended over the "gamers are dead" article. Does one idiot saying such an obviously retarded, clickbait statement really change your enjoyment of videogames? Getting pissed at it only validates it.

I would never say that the gaming community as a whole doesn't have bad seeds in it, and can do bad or say bad things. But constantly attacking your readership is just so stupid to me, people will get tired of being called things or accused of things they don't do and quit paying attention to this snobby press. It's already happening with streaming being so prominent now. As far as that Gamers Are Dead piece, which I refuse to even bother reading, got posted rather quickly around the web. While I doubt it was some mustache twirling evil conspiracy, it sure made the press look like, "Ha we'll show those dumb gamers! We'll just throw gasoline on this fire to put 'em out!"

They didn't even read the damn article, which is the annoying part. It was about how gaming is becoming a more diverse field. Honestly, if you're ego is as fragile to go mad over a single clickbait title, you have some issues you need to work out.

It's already happening with streaming being so prominent now. A lot of games journalists are being harassed nowadays, so I can't blame them for hating their readers. If the people I wrote to were mostly known for swatting random streaming channels, I'd be pretty pissed off too. And Caskett, you still haven't defined an actual meaning to the word "gamer." Your entire argument makes absolutely no sense if you don't define what that means. Most arguments I see aren't "people can't be gamers," it's "don't be a stereotype."

I think the language used in it was rather inflammatory, but like I said, I didn't bother with reading it (call me biased, but I've never really like much of Leigh Alexander's writing). I fully agree gaming is becoming more diverse, figured that out a long time ago.
