I thought the trailer was okay, but it helps/harms that I have no real nostalgia towards Ghostbuster, with the exception of the C64 game and Extreme Ghostbusters. I'll probably check it out if it gets good reviews and such.

So, it seems that a movie about the Dark Tower books by Stephen King has been finally greenlit and that Roland Deschain and Walter O'Dim will be played respectively by Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. If it's true I am very happy: Elba is the man to go by when it comes to cancelling an apocalypse and I always thought Matthew McCowabunga would have been a great Randall Flagg - now all we need is Aaron Paul as Eddie! I thought the trailer was okay, but it helps/harms that I have no real nostalgia towards Ghostbuster, with the exception of the C64 game and Extreme Ghostbusters. I'll probably check it out if it gets good reviews and such. I only watched the movie once when I was little, but I have fond memories of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon (mainly because of Slimer getting a lot of screentime) and the David Crane game. But yeah, can't say I have strong feelings towards the original movie.

So someone made this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IDXpOX0Cp0Much more exciting (leaving out the terrible final scene alone helps a lot), but also a more dishonest style of trailer.

I'm definitely a person with a huge love of the original Ghostbusters but this new trailer looks fun so I'm excited to see it eventually.
I'm really excited about The Dark Tower finally happening. Inspired casting too, once Kurt Russell was too old I wouldn't have minded if an adaptation was never made but this is a great choice. Speaking of which it's been about six years and Star Wars is back, it's about time for someone to get the rights to Dune again and fail to get a movie made.

I watched the new Ghostbusters trailer and well, about the nicest thing I can say is the CGI ghosts look cool, which just makes me wish this was the "real" Ghostbusters 3 we almost got.
But as for everything else? Damn, Ghostbusters is one of the greatest comedies of all time and these jokes are definitely not living up to the legacy, the only thing to get a chuckle out of me is the wig joke and what is with that new Ecto-1? It looks really friggin' ugly.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the fact that they've rebooted Ghostbusters comes close to sacrilege to me, Hollywood can reboot Robocop or whatever and I don't care, but if there's one 80's classic that should be left alone, the fact that they started this movie not long after Harold Ramis died just adds insult to injury and proves that nothing is sacred to greedy modern Hollywood.

I thought the gadgets looked neat. The original Ecto 1 was technically a piece of junk and barely lasted two movies. At least it's AU movie.

Sometimes I dream about Salvador Dalí as the emperor of the galaxy. I want to live in the alternate reality where that movie exists!

Peter Berg also planned on making a Dune adaption several years back, somehow I doubt there will be a documentary about that one.

I know inflation and all and how huge blockbuster movies are made for so much money today, but it really saddens me that they were $5 million off from $20 million needed to start filming even with all the crazy excesses he had planned for it. What could have been.
I wish someone with $$$ would take him up on how he said in the documentary that he'd be delighted if someone else wanted to direct his script/storyboard today, just that he personally isn't interested in it anymore (between The Incal, Metabarons/etc. he basically covered everything thematically he wanted to say in his take on Dune).

I watched the trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie and it's even worse than I expected. The jokes were so lame that even the most mediocre Nickelodeon comedy series are funnier that this piece of garbage. Also for a movie that is supposed to appeal to a certain kind audience...using an unfunny, outdated caricature of a black, fat loud woman for the black female character? Seriously? And I thought Robocop reboot was awful.
At least the theme remix for the trailer is awesome.

The cherry on top is that they explicitly remind you of the original movie at the start of the trailer, like "yeah, remember how awesome Ghostbusters was? Now get a load of the shitty 2010s remake"
Fuck, man, Ghostbusters should be above this sort of thing.

That's more the marketing. I'm not sure why Paul Feig movies end up with crappy trailers. Though I did notice awhile back that one of the writers also did the writing for The Heat.

The trailer for Ghosbusters 1 is just as dumb.
