I can understand how this movie can appeal to furries everywhere but I can't help but think this will end up with them being looked upon in a bad way when they end up in the lime light with the media. I got nothing against furries myself. In fact I read a number of comics that deal with anthropomorphic characters in them. I just don't want to see them looked upon in a bad way.
On another thought, do you think that fox character in the movie parent's could be Disney's Robin Hood and Maid Marrian from the 70's animated movie? I've seen a funny comic on Tumbler with the fox guy talking to his mom about his movie a few months back (and denying his dating the rabbit.)

It wouldn't surprise me if they did that in a subtle way that doesn't really effect or matter to either story like how if you're a super Disney nerd you can tell that Frozen and The Little Mermaid are in the same world. Wasn't that the same guy who wrote the article a week before Mass Effect 1 came out about how it's a bestiality simulator? he's the "self defense with a flashlight" guy This is a new one to me. Maybe he should hang out with the guy who wrote Street Sword: Practical Use of the Long Blade for Self-Defense. EDIT: THEY'RE THE SAME GUY LMAOOOO!!! Please follow the link and read the reviews of how bad this guy's book is (and the one or two that were clearly written by him personally). Sample review: "After a long shift at Cold Stone Creamery, I was confronted by a man asking for all my tips or else he'd take my life (and 3 pints of cake batter ice cream-partially melted). I sang tons of embarrassing songs that day for those tips, and refused to give him my $8. Fortunately, it was Thursday, the day I typically carry my Katana Pro 19 series sword with me! I remembered the advice from Chapter 5: "Slicing Up the Other Guy." With one swift motion the threat became minced meat, moments later I turned on the news. Unfortunately, his picture was all over the headlines stating "Cold-Blooded Killer on the Loose," I was easily identified being one of the few people who walk around on the streets with a huge sword in public. Despite now having to serve a lot of time, this book is top 5 literature regarding street-safe Long Blade Self defense. ."

I'm just wondering if the different regional variants will be a deleted scene or a feature on the Blu-ray/DVD release or if it's going to be limited to the respective region's releases. It'll probably depend on what languages are included on each region. For example, Inside Out will show slightly different scenes if you're watching it in English or Spanish. It's really minor stuff, like in the dad's head, in the English version he's watching football and in the Spanish version it's soccer.

I found it interesting that the movie has a Frozen cosplayer in one of the scenes.

That could potentially be hilarious. "Another weirdo in a mansuit, wasn't there an episode of Law and Order about these creeps?"

Saw the movie last night, and thought it was very good. A definite credit to Disney in being head-and-shoulders above the usual "kid" fare these days. For one thing, the leads are all adults, who behave like adults, and who have consistent characterization throughout the whole film. The script is well-paced and well-plotted, with Chekhov's gun and Law of Conservation of Detail very much in effect; aside from a couple of ::ahem:: asides, everything exists with a purpose, with no digressions just to be "funny." I also appreciated how the film used circular structure, referring to itself and the iconography it established more frequently than to current pop culture (though there are certainly plenty of pop-culture jokes).
Plus, the rendering of the characters is very organic (as can be expected of Disney), the film's central metaphors very tastefully rendered (and very timely), and the funny bits genuinely funny (relying on character-driven humor more than overt slapstick or absurdism). I'll probably go to see it again.

The frick?! We're still doing this regional pandering s##t in 2016? I don't get it, I thought we're behind this 4kids esque s##t; but alas they gotta make money because they think the audiences outside of North American (and France) wouldn't get why a moose has to be in the news thing.

Given the plot of the movie it would make sense for the news anchor to be someone local like in real life.

Has there been any news stories about furries being seen at movie theatres or any other stuff that deals with this movie that puts them in the lime light aside from the one that's shown earlier?

I'm aware of furry groups renting out theaters specifically for special fandom-centric screenings of the film, but I suspect that something like wearing a fursuit to a theater would be against regulations in any normal circumstance (wearing masks, for instance, is prohibited in most if not all North American theaters). Other than that, I'm not aware of anything, though I haven't exactly been trolling news sites for that sort of thing, either. Possibly, members of the furry fandom are just sufficiently sane not to be making a public spectacle of themselves?

In addition to the ones I've already listed, UK/France's version is apparently a corgi.

Has this become basically the furry thread now? Not that I'm saying that's good or bad. ...Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten around to seeing this, and due to circumstances, I might not get to until this hits DVD. I'd really love to, I mean, it looks great, and I'm glad so many people are really getting into it. Hopefully it'll rank more closely to WiR than Frozen, at least. I'm just bummed there's no reptiles. Reptiles are cool, man.
