Every time I get close to going to see this movie, something pops up throwing off my schedule.

Which, succinctly enough, was pretty much the actual entire theme of the film itself. (And no, I do not plan on seeing this.)

I want to see it because I'm curious how Disney will pull off what's essentially a buddy-cop film, from what I've heard.

I saw it in 3D, and it was... okay? Definitely not a film where the 3D conversion added anything of value; still a great movie, though!

I saw a site claiming that Zootopia is native 3D, but the film had credits for "3D Conversion," so I'm calling shenanigans on that. Especially given articles I've read about how it could take days to render a single frame in some of the more complex scenes, I sincerely doubt a small team of five people went in and re-rendered the whole movie for 3D. I think 90% of 3D films are post-converted these days, which, to me, is baffling. I mean, what's the point? It's one thing for a movie like the Hobbit, where you got a real sense of depth and tangibility out of everything, since it was shot in stereo; but most post-converted stuff is like cardboard cutouts---the Virtual Boy all over again! Also, for me, at least, 3D seldom seems to be quite in focus, so I actually lose the ability to see fine detail vs. a 2D projection. (in explanation, I saw Zootopia first in 2D, but ended up going to a 3D showing because I wanted to see it again, and it was the only showtime I could make it to)

This is quality stuff! Cory Loftis is also the one who did the Conan the Barbarian-esque painting on the side of Finnick's van! [the image in question:] Ed: though my first thought was Conan, it's apparently based on a famous painting from the Aztec legend of Popocatepetl & Iztaccíhuatl. Which, of course, makes sense, given where Fennec foxes are from, and the style of van on which it is painted!

It does have a Conan-like look to it, so I can see why the mistake was made. I just wish there was a wallpaper-friendly version.

Yeah, well it might be a small miracle that Disney is actually letting this out into the wild---but I hear ya'!

And I haven't watched it yet since I can't find anyone else from my friends which are interested and I don't want to go at the cinema by myself. So it seems I'll have to wait till bluray release.

Random trivia: In China it was locally known as Crazy Animal City.
And I thought the greek naming for foreign movies were stupid.
