Hah, I forgot Sega-16 existed. I used to go to their forums for a period of time, several years back when I started building up my Genesis collection. I was able to get the Reprint edition of Pier Solar through keeping up with updates on their forum Anyways, it'll be awhile yet before this game comes out... so I should probably find time to play Streets of Rage 2 and 3 already. I've only ever played like the first stage in SOR2, and never played SOR3. I'd highly recommend finding the English-patched version of Bare Knuckle 3. SoR3 is decent enough, but the high praise for BKIII is legit.

Like most translation patches, you can find it at romhacking.net. The story is a little better in BK3, but that's not so important (it's a mid-90s action game...); the main difference is that it's a good deal easier than SoR3, so that Normal in BK3 is roughly Easy in SoR3. Personally I like the difficulty increase, but most people don't.

I think Romhacking.net is down, so it might be a little more difficult than that, but the ROM is definitely out there somewhere.

-Bad AI. Enemies either stand around doing nothing or run off-screen (this was a problem with SoR Remake, highly-praised as it was). They fixed that in v5.1 i believe.

I do have SoR Remake, but the version I have according to the readme is v5. Maybe I should search out v5.1, in that case.

"SEGA Genesis Beat-’em-up ‘PAPRIUM’ Delayed Until Early 2018"Well, that's unfortunate. They hope to have their issues worked out in about a month. Either way, at least this will give me more time to play other games that come out this year (since this year's release schedule is already jam-packed with stuff).

Oh Watermelon delaying games at the last second? What a surprise! Seriously, not happy with these guys. And I'm with Toei. I bought it. Twice. Thought it just wasn't clicking, until it finally really just did click that I kind of fucking hated it.

I actually bought Pier Solar when it came out, and I have to say that it sucked. It's literally the only 16-bit RPG I ever stopped playing halfway through. The storyline and characters never managed to evoke the charm of classic RPGs (or be compelling on their own), but what did me in were the overlong, obtuse dungeons. God, where they an aggravating drag. I remember following the project for a while and these guys were cocky as hell, bragging about how Pier Solar blew every 16 bit RPG out of the water, it's way better than Phantasy Star IV, etc... and then to release this amateurish, ovepriced game? I mean, have you seen the character art? It'd work for a free RPGMaker game, maybe something sold on Steam for 5$, but this was what, 60-70$? Total ripoff. It was literally everyone on the team's first proper game, was even supposed to be a non-commercial project at first.

Honestly, I don't really care if it's their first game. I bought it full-price and regretted it, is my point. And they spoke of it as if it were the greatest thing ever made. That would have been fine for a free game, or even a 15-20$ Steam game (though Steam wasn't as a big when it first came out, IIRC), but it left a sour taste in my mouth.
