Hundred Swords was released here on the PC by Activision. I'm pretty sure it flopped. I have it but haven't tried it. It was also heavily gutted, with the RPG elements stripped out of the game (such as choices that affected gameplay) leaving the overall experience far lesser then the original.

Ooh, Vib Ribbon. Yeah, that one's totally inexplicable... it would've sold like hotcakes here!

Name: DoDonPachi System: Arcade Reason: Possibly the uprise of 3D arcade games, just look at CPS-3, which had games for it a year earlier.

Chrono Cross, Front Mission 4, Persona 1, 2 and (probably) 3, Xenogears, Xenosaga Episode I and (most likely) Xenosaga Episode III ....etc. System: PS and PS2 Why: Sony hates europe.

Don't forget Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and the Lufia titles! (uh - SNES wise...) Yes, Lufia came out in Australia but that still isnt quite europe :\

If Sony hates Europe, why is it that we got NeoGeo Coliseum and you didn't?

Name: Super Mario Bros. 2 (A.K.A. "The Lost Levels") Manufacturer: Nintendo Release Date: June 3rd, 1986 Console: Famicom Disk System Why wasn't this game release here: Too difficult and frustrating, and too similar to the first Super Mario game.

The only reason why those SNK titles are being released here is because we don't have the PS3 yet, and budget release companies get the Green light on almost anything they want to release when a system is "dying". Remember those extra late PSO Guilty Gear and Cleopatra Fortune ports?

I guess that explains those really late releases of old games on Playstation in the U.S. Damn Gunbird was made here as Mobile Light Force and published by XS games. The game came out almost a decade ago from when we got it That is, if you don't count Gunbird 2 for Dreamcast. How can we get the second one before the first? The U.S. does have a knack for that though. Just like Final Fantasy. FF1-2-3----7 (even though our 2 and 3 are the Japanese 4 and 6)

One more to add to the mix:
Title: Boku no Natsuyasumi ("My Summer Vacation", "Boku's Summer Vacation" [the main character is named Boku], or "Summer Holidays 20th Century" [the English title that appears on the case]) System: PlayStation, and ported to PSP as well Reason: Too Japanese, and too inane. I mean, it's a game that chronicles one month in the life of a 9-year-old boy in the 1975 Japanese countryside. It's absolutely fascinating, and incredibly relaxing... but no one in their right mind would ever risk releasing it here, because outside of like, anime conventions, I doubt anyone would buy it.
Regardless, though, it's freakin' awesome. I just got a copy of the PSP version, and I absolutely love it!

Name: Policenauts System: Playstation Reason: Who knows, maybe Konami thought there was no audience for it, maybe SCEA said there weren't enough polygons.
Name: Samurai Spirits RPG System: Neo Geo CD Reason: I don't know, and I really don't care, I just want it.

Name: Front Mission 5 System: PS2 Reason: Front Mission 4 sold so poorly that Square-Enix marked it down from $50 to $30 in only a few months. A couple months later, I saw it at Best Buy for only $15 (not a sale price.)
