Soldam on the Switch came out over 20 years after the Arcade and Gameboy version. But the Switch version has some features removed like big gems and the screen cleaning fairy. But they added some unlockable pet mode that evolve when you play instead yet the Sound Effects and Music are taken from arcade version. Never played the original but the Switch game is enjoyable. I wish there was more to the pet system I am confused how to unlock the new forms outside of just feeding them different colors. City Connection (the developer) is basically new-Jaleco reviving all these different games of the past. They also did a new Penguin Wars.

Magical Drop 5 came out of nowhere too and had a the mechanics from Ghost Lop added in which was a completed and unreleased Data East Neo Geo Arcade game. It was also a really stupid idea because, as the Data East HG101 book states, the two gaming styles don't really mesh with each other. Also the game was mediocre at best and the devs never bothered to fix most of the problems (including the missing Marathon Mode) before disappearing/going bankrupt. They were the same guys of the never-released Toki remake after all.
I know because I sadly bought it at the time...

The Console ports was canceled too and the game just came out with nothing on the Devs site even mentioning it. They also made a new final boss if you played ghost lop mode called Mushman who is a staypuft parody. He was playable but like every hidden character in that game has stupid hard unlock requirements. As for Toki the last things I heared of it was they was adding a Simultaneous 2 player mode and the devs did some kind of kick starter for it but the money went into some game development class for training new game devs instead and the game is apparently coming out on the Switch near the end of the year by Microids but all the trailer footage and screen shots are the same as we saw years ago. Around the same time a Dev called SnapDragon Games according to one XBLA website was making Remakes of Karate Champ,Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja and Tumble pop for Wii ware and XBLA but no information if they was remakes or just the arcade originals or screen shots ever showed up anywhere.

I really wish to see a sequel for Einhänder someday. Man that game kicked so much ass... A modern sequel to Einhander would kick ass. I would be more hyped for it, as opposed to Kingdom Hearts 3 or the current incarnation of the FF VII remake. I really enjoyed how Einhander was set-up as just one long sequence, with each section naturally progressing into the next without intermission or time-skip.

Windjammers didn't surprise me too much, it'd be been at Evo the last few years and was getting talked about.
But Streets of Rage 4? Yeah that was a surprise. Even Axel's earlier cameo in Project Cross Zone didn't really trigger much talk about the series, so having this announced was a surprise.
