Welp, I'm in! H2:SO - used a "sliding" exploit to navigate through some of the later levels (the one that lets you move with running speed, all while not triggering guards into shooting you on sight). However, considering how broken and unpolished this game is at times (especially infamous Hidden Valley and At The Gate levels), exploiting the game here is actually mandatory for a stealthy gameplay. It's one of those cases where levels weren't well designed around the way AI works, which is why everything was significantly reworked in Contracts and onward - so yeah, I'll leave you to decide whether it's a legit claim because you can't properly play the game without using a glitch, or not legit because it's still a glitch. HGo:TDE - used walkthrough to get 3 separate stamps (for a platinum trophy). All the other 260 stamps (including every primary stamp required to beat the game) were figured out by myself, therefore it's beaten .з. ?? Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (PC) ?? Hitman Go: The Definitive Edition (PS Vita)

Claiming Tetris Plus 2...I guess? 5 credits out of an estimated 30 maximum. I feel that in the case of this game the "no credit feeding" rule should be enforced due to the smart bombs available to the player upon every continue. The Puzzle mode remains mostly unchanged in terms of basic mechanics and structure. The narrative is certainly much more bizarre compared to the original. One of the endings involves the marriage between an Egyptian queen and a sentient stick, whose only known words are "what's up, dude?" as our bewildered treasure pilferers observe the situation. At the start of the game you are given a choice between the professor and the assistant as the escort character. "Morton Jones" behaves the same as he did in the prequel, while his hyperactive sentient squeak toy of an assistant moves faster and refuses to stand still, making her the designated "hard mode" of the game. New to the stages are traps that will immobilize the escort character on contact. Placing a tetromino on top of the escort character restores their ability to move or you can preemptively place the block on top of the trap to disable it. They end up being a blessing in disguise, as they are the only reliable way to control the movements of the restless green haired wonder. You are also given two bombs, which you can activate at any time to destroy blocks around the escort character. In spite of the hard mode addition of the green haired flower pot, the game is generally easier than its predecessor due to the simpler junk block layouts. Attachments:

Alright, this is my year! Move over, Snake! All creature will die and all the things will be broken! Haha, I'm gonna take it easy this year. Besides, just remember that because I beat a lot of games last year, that also means there is a lot of easily beatable games that are off the table for me this year. =) Edit: *see, look like Feynman's on it! Honestly I'm boasting just to boast, there's a good chance I'll be too busy with projects to play much this coming year. But we'll see! And yeah, looks like Feynman's the one to beat this time!

backgroundnoise , that should be quite all right. Thanks for going so in-depth. nerdybat , I'm just gonna ask to make sure 100%: Did you start those games after the allowed date and did you play the majority of them this year? I'm just asking because I thought they'd be moderately long games, and the year has just started. Snake , with the rules being more lenient this year, I think it would make little sense to still have that rule around. Unless there's big objections to this, consider that rule gone. Also, seeing as I just started this thread, there might be some small oversights and otherwise important notes from me in the near future. So please make sure you at least read MY posts. For example, here's one now:
I'm keeping track of the amount of games played for each platform, which is why I asked you guys to note that any time you claim a game. Please make sure if you play a rerelease or a port, that you note the original system. Some examples: -Playing SMB on VC is still NES -Playing the GBA port of The Legend of Zelda is still NES -Playing a PS1 game on PSN is still PS1 -Playing a GCN game on the Wii via backwards compatibility is still GCN -Playing the original MSX Metal Gear in Metal Gear Solid is still MSX -Playing one of the included games in Super Mario All-Stars is SNES, not NES Now, it gets harder with multiplatform titles, or titles that have stuff added in their ports. Unless the rerelease is clearly based on one version (for examples, rereleases of MegaMan 8 are based on the PSX version), please just note the system you played on. Basically, if it's closer to emulation than recreation/porting, please note the original system. Like always, if you're not sure, ask about it in this thread. I'm not familiar with every game under the sun, and though I have so far Googled every claimed game to make sure I get my info straight, I'd still like you guys to think about this carefully and if you see anything wrong in another user's claim, please point it out.
Lastly, in 2017, moran and X-pert74 helped out behind the scenes. Now, we've already started, hopefully with rules that are good enough for most people, but I still think it would be good to have a small group of dedicated people who can come together if there's something to be discussed, or if an unsure situation occurs. Any HG101 regulars who think they have a good knowledge of games in general who want to help me out on that front? I'm not sure what would be the best way to communicate between us, so suggestions of that kind would be welcome to. Please make sure you're a regular poster here who's been here a while, so I know it's unlikely you'll be gone by the end of the year.

I'd like to volunteer my support again We could just communicate through private messages on this forum; that worked well enough for 2017. We could also have a shared Google document that all of the contributors can edit, so that anyone in the team who happens to be free can jump in and add the newest claimed games that were posted in the thread.

So games like Metal Slug must be completed pretty much on 1cc?

So games like Metal Slug must be completed pretty much on 1cc? Uhhh, no. The rules don't say that at all. You get two credits per stage in the game you're playing. So for example, the original Metal Slug has six stages. Which would mean you'd have to beat all six stages in under 12 continues in order to be able to claim it in this thread. (at least that's my understanding)

Can I claim Star Fox?
I only beat the first route though, not all 3, but I still saw the end credits.

I gather credit-feeding is only allowed for games, that place you at the start of the stage or something.

X-pert74 : You're hired! (Can you make a private message thread with more than 2 people though?) Also, I probably won't be away from home a long time this year, maybe a week or so in the summer, so I don't think sharing my excel file will do much good, but if it's ever needed I will. GamerL : The other two routes aren't mere variations on the easy route, but rather are 2/3rd of the game, so you'll have to play the entire game to claim it. I'm working on it too right now, so we'll have our first double claim soon if things go well.

The game has some nostalgic charm but it's pretty dated, that very low framerate just sucks and sometimes it's hard to tell what the hell is even going on, I tried the second route and just couldn't get past it. Maybe I'll change my mind and go back to it but I've already moved on to Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, which you better believe I'm save stating in as it's one tough mother and then after that I'm going to play Contra 3, which I'll give the old college try but may have to save state as well. So I guess I won't be able to claim a game until aLttP.

I'm just asking because I thought they'd be moderately long games, and the year has just started. It's kinda complicated with Hitman Go: I've started it for the first time back in November (bought it during EU sales), but then abandoned the game, and restarted it around 20th December with clear save and aim for 100% completion. So, I've restarted the playthrough around 20th December, finished first 3 boards in 2017, and then the other four in 2018 (>50%). Don't know if that counts, it's for you to decide .u. As for Silent Assassin, started it exactly on January 1st (late December 31 depending on your timezone). As a proof, I have some uploaded Steam screenshots from both when I've started and ended beating the thing. I'm marathoning through Hitman series as of now in general, so yeah, I waste a lot of time on hitmaning stuff
