over the last 3 Console Generations (32bit era-now) it seems that more and more games no matter how crappy get sequels. Back in the old days there were tons of great one off games.
But how about some of the great one off games from the last 3 generations great games that never got sequels.
Nights, and Samba DeAmigo come to mind (though Samba got an upgrade I dunno if that counts as a sequel or not)

Wasn't their a Christmas Nights game, and if I'm not mistaken a Nights next gen game might be in the works.
Ranger-X was the only game of its series and the only game done by Gau, but man they dropped it correct on their only released game.
I know that the old members of Gau have formed a new company and have been doing RPG's but If they ever decided to do a Ranger-X2 it would never be as good as the original that they somehow managed to create such magic with.
Also all those Data East games that never got sequals would be good picks too.

Valis, but it's getting a sequel but I would prefer it if it had less tentacle rape and more platforming

Elemental Gearbolt was a pretty incredible game. Fantasy RPG + Lightgun = Awesome!

Megaman X: Command Mission, a one-off spinoff, unlike rest of them.

Well... Sunset Riders actually received something of a follow-up. I suppose the term is "spiritual sequel?" Check out Mystic Warriors if you get the chance. It plays nearly exactly like SR, but with ninjas instead of cowboys. It's quite a fun game, if ya ask me. I nominate Rez and Alien Hominid. I'm debating on whether or not to write an article for either... ;D

Valis, but it's getting a sequel but I would prefer it if it had less tentacle rape and more platforming there were 4 of em Actually, there were the four side scrollers which appeared on multiple 16-bit systems, but there also was the super deformed Valis, as documented on this great site here. More disappointing, however, are the new PC series that are probably best left forgotten, as it's a hentai graphic adventure. Oh, as for one offs, how about God Hand? One of the best 3d beat em ups ever, with a catchy anime style to boot.
