Is anyone as psyched about this game as I am!?
I love these games... the first game is sort of awful, but after that this series is solid gold.
Wonder Boy in Monster Land has a special place in my heart because I remember playing this one all the time on my friend's Atari ST computer. It's got a really good soundtrack and the gameplay is complex enough to stand the test of time!

Yeah I REALLY REALLY want this but I've put a stop to buying new games for the next month or two. It's only like $30 though...
Wonder Boy 3 was one of my favorite games when I was a kid, though it hasn't aged well, mostly due to the crap level design.

Horay for Wonder Boy to be honest Wonder Boy in Monster world was the first *rpg* styled game I played all the way through, the game had such a wonderful playstyle, and the plot was simple but not bad. Plus when the rescued prince comes to save your ass after the end boss hands yours to you that was just a brilliant moment.

I really want to get this game. I played a couple of the games in the series via emulator and I enjoyed them. It's on my long list of import PS2 games that I want but can't play yet.

The only thing is that they should of not put Complete in the title cause it doesnt appear to have Dynastic Hero (Turbo Duo) nor Monster Lair (Turbo Duo). It still has these games on there just not these versions.

Has there ever been a collection of games that has ever been really comprehensive enough to be called "complete." Honestly....

They'd be called Definitive Collections wouldn't they?

'Monster Lair and Dynastic Hero' are both tied up with hudson. Thusly why they cannot appear on a SEGA collection.

It's too bad, I would have liked to hear the DUO soundtracks compared to the Genesis versions. Also, from what I remember the DUO versions tended to look a little better than the Genesis versions (more colorful).

Dynastic Hero is definitely owned by Hudson, but while SEGA didn't the port, Monster Lair was still a licensed port of a SEGA owned game. It was actually released as Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair in Japan. It was the only PCE Wonder Boy game to be released unaltered. I'm guessing, due to the fact that they are owned by Hudson, that the first NES Adventure Island, the MSX Adventure Island, the Bikkuriman version of Wonder Boy in Monster Land, and Dragon's Curse/Adventure Island, the TG-16/PCE version of Monster World II: The Dragon's Trap, won't be in the collection either. Which Wonder Boy III, Monster Lair or The Dragon's Trap?

Indeed they won't be because they're not "Monster World" nor "Wonder Boy" games at all, despite being ports from "Monster World" or "Wonder Boy" games, as odd as it sounds. MW Complete Collection can, in fact, be considered "completely comprehensive". Every game in the series is there (even with foreign versions), as well as every relevant (that is, made by Sega itself) port they had, including prototypes and the SG1000 version from WB:

Since this is a Sega compilation, it does make sense not to include non sega ports of these games. I spoke too soon. This is another great Sega Ages comp just like Space Harrier Collection.
