For Game Boy try out Sgt. Rock good game to play when your taking a crap. Monster Rancher Explorer is a pick up and play game. GBA try Max Payne, the Sonic Advanced games. Also Metal Slug Advanced. DS has Sonic Rush, and if your into multi-player there is Metroid Prime Hunter. The Multi is pretty fast paced but the hand cramps suck. (Single player is kind of boring). Also might wanna check out Viewtiful Joe for DS, I've heard its pretty fun. Im trying to think of more but all that come to mind are crappy lisenced games. EDIT: This is for mazinsaga

I think it's difficult to differentiate between really unique gameplay and unique settings in which old and well-known gameplay is used in new kind of ways and therefore seems fresh. I'll try to exclude the second scenario.
Many indie PC games offer unique gameplay, cause the developers can take more risks with their designs.
Gish -controlling a ball of tar and an interesting physic engine offers a truly fresh and one of a kind platforming experience Ocular Ink -controlling a paintbrush-toting eyeball in this topdown action adventure gives you an idea how the paintbrush feature of Okami should've been used Mount & Blade -probably the best realised mounted combat simulator (the part which felt horribly tacked on and underdeveloped in Oblivion) offers the arcadelike thrills of chaotic medievil combat like no other game Engage to Jabberwock -a unique mix of an action adventure and a manic shmup. Imagine a cross-breed of early Zelda and DoDonPachi
Of course there are also many console games, that offer such experiences, but you'll have to look a little harder. The aforementioned Umihara Kawase is a prime example of course ^_- but there are some others that come to mind:
Spanky's Quest -imagine a mixture of Volley Ball and Bubble Bobble Unirally -this unusual racing game needs no further explanation, I hope ^_- Chikyuu Boueigun -although it may seem like just another third person shooter, the scale in this game is unbelievable and only comparable to something like SotC, battling against armies of giant ants and skyscraper high Kaiju Monsters while laying an entire city to waste, with your little guy and his ridiculous weapon arsenal, is something you won't experience anywhere else Bit Generations: Orbital -just controlled with two buttons, this game pits you in the role of a small planet, fighting against the gravitational pull of other planets Kuru Kuru Kururin -navigate a constantly rotating stick through a maze as fast as possible, without hitting the walls, it's a simple but quite challenging test of dexterity and reflexes

Rollaway/KulaQuest/Kula World for the original Play Station is one of the most unique games I have ever come across. You have to navigate a 3 maze of sorts as a beach ball, being able to roll along the surface as if you had a kind of subjective gravity. It's more of a puzzle game in the way you have to get past some levels, but it has some decent action elements in trying to make certain jumps on crumbling block and what. I really don't know of anything else like it out on the market.

What sucks about that is how expensive a PAL copy is now..that sucks mostly because a friend of mine had it and she gave it away for free when she sold her playstation (not to me sadly) on the plus side I did get Tombi.
