If you're counting Japanese games: PopoloCrois Story, PoPoRogue, PopoloCrois Story II, Moon: Remix RPG Adventure, UFO: A Day In the Life, and Community POM were all fully 2D.
If not, though, then... well... I can't really think of any others off the top of my head either. (: Not any of note, anyway...

Here's few of those: * Theme Park * Theme Hospital * X-COM: UFO Defense * Suikoden I-II * Mega Man X4-X6 * Capcom 2D fighter games As for Klonoa: It's not a 2D game, though it plays like one.

Metrackle: Um Jammer Lammy is 3D. The characters may be paper cut-outs, but they're still rendered, same as in PaRappa.

Can you guys believe Megaman X4 and SOTN (both classics in my opinion) almost weren't released in the US becuase sony of america had a strong anti-2D stance?

That happened to alot of quality games. It's sort of ridiculous though because how many 2D games are on the PS2

I tend to wonder how much of that is truth though. SCEA has some annoying standards, but I don't think they'd block titles from big third party publishers bringing out games in long established franchised. I've gotten the impression it was more from Saturn fanboys back in the day.

I think the rumor of Sony's anti-2D stance in the PS1 era does hold SOME merit, but I don't think it lasted very long. The fact that it's 2D, though, DID contribute to the original PopoloCrois game never coming out in the U.S... I mean, I can't completely verify this, but I do know that two of the first RPGs on the PlayStation console were PopoloCrois and Beyond the Beyond, which are both Sony properties... and supposedly, Sony of America didn't feel that the RPG genre was profitable enough to warrant releasing two over such a short period of time, so they chose to only release one... and their pick was BtB, simply because it was 3D, and they were trying to really market the heck out of the PS1's 3D capabilities (for some inexplicable reason).
May just be another rumor, but it sounds plausible. I mean, why else would Sony have chosen a game like Beyond the Beyond over PopoloCrois?! I can't think of a single RPG fan in existence who would EVER prefer BtB... PopoloCrois still holds up even by TODAY'S standards. I mean, it's a damn fine game!
(And remember, we're talking about the original PopoloCrois here, NOT the PSP game. The PSP game is extremely sub-par by comparison.)
