Just to make sure (with Demul), do you have the correct file (dc.zip) in the /roms/ subfolder? Demul seems to take a different BIOS from other DC emulators. I seem to recall it also takes different disc images (I had to find .chd images instead of the usual CDI/GDI). It's a MAME-style emulator. Yeah, got dc.zip and even a few others, which I suppose are for other regions? I guess it's for the best, though, considering the issue with game images that you mentioned.

Demul plays Dreamcast, Naomi, Atomiswave and other arcade boards. For ARCADE games, you want to download CHD images, which you can find on emuparadise's MAME ROM section. Does anybody know of a working disk image of Nemesis 90 Kai that works with WinX68K High Speed (English Version)? Because I've never been able to get the one I have to work. Failing that, an X68K emu that WILL work with it? You can find the game on emuparadise... Make sure you put both disks in the emulator, or it won't start.

I did that with the version I had, and all I get is an A prompt. EDIT : I am a dumbass. For Nemesis, you could check main memory. If it's sets to 1, Nemesis will give you the A prompt, it needs 2 minimum.

So much has changed since the last time I looked at this thread. I don't know what I'd say are recommended, but so far I'm using: Stella for VCS/2600 MAMEUIFX for arcade(this version has a built in turbo function, and you can hide light gun cross hairs, if you're using an actual light gun) NEStopia(main) and FCEUX(secondary) for NES. SNES9X 1.53 and 1.52(for Brawl Brothers, which flickers in 1.53) for SNES. I wouldn't mind BSNES or Higan, or whatever it's become, if it were more user friendly, and ZSNES has really fallen back on the accuracy scale. Visual Boy Advance for GBA, GB, and GBC. BGB for GB & GBC games VBA doesn't do well(like Wayforward's). Ootake for TurboGrafx-16. Fusion for all of 2D Sega. Used to like Gens/GS for the maximized window option, but it had graphic glitches and other issues that Fusion doesn't. Plus now I'm getting used to going full screen. Oh, and this might help you decide on emulators, but what's better may not necessarily be what's more comfortable. emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page

Are you using the VBA-M fork of Visual Boy Advance? If not, you probably should be. It fixes a lot of leftover bugs from the last 'regular' VBA release, including Shantae compatibility. The regular version of VBA gives me weird sound bugs as well, which VBA-M cleans up.

Yeah, I'm using the latest official version. I guess I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry for being lazy, but I need to know a good DS emulator to grab screens with.

DeSmuME. Well, it is the only DS emulator that actually works.
You could try No$GBA, but it is worse than DeSmuME overall and some antiviruses will bitch with it.

I've heard people sing praises for both. No$GBA seems to have much bigger screen options, and a handful of games appear to run better in it, but that's about it. DeSmuME is definitely the way to go.
Personally, I can't seem to get MAME games to work in MAME64. Been stuck using the 32 bit version as a result.

Aside from XEBRA for PS...
I still use the original FCE Ultra. It just runs so well for pretty much everything... right now I have no need for any of X's fancy options.
SNESGT is pretty nice. The only thing it's failed at for me so far is Exhaust Heat II, and noone figured that game out for a while anyway. It may also fail at Top Gear 3000, but I remember that running...
I am a big fan of blueMSX, but I've always liked that early '00s "immersive"/"drawn out" UI design (see also Winamp and many old websites).
Most of my other recommendations are commonly used anyway.

Thanks for the link. That site convinced me: I'm switching to Snes9x. I didn't know ZSNES was that bad nowadays. I use VBA, Ootake and Fusion, as well, so I recommend those too. For arcade games I use Shmupmame, which has been optimized to reduce input lag (but maybe you won't notice the difference; it's only a few frames, anyway).

Well, with SNES9X, you'll also want the older version(1.52, as 1.53 is the current) if you want to play Brawl Brothers, because the game flickers with the current version. Not sure if anything else was broken going from older to current either. Unless there's a second emulator you like that covers it.
