SSF's not great but its only the Saturn emulator that works at the moment.

Looking for a decent N64 emu. Is Project64 still the better choice? I've seen this pop up a lot in the thread, but the posts are from a few years ago. And how well do N64 games work with a normal, PS style pad?

Mupen64 is the best 64 emulator, and it is updated frequently.
Any controller that isn't the 64 controller sucks when playing 64 games. That's one of the reasons I hate the 64 controller.

Yeah, you really need to get one of those USB adapters that lets you use a real N64 controller on your computer.

Question.
What's the best PS1 emulator I can use to get Suikoden II running without massive slowdown? The game has some graphics that wear on my current ePSXe190, and I'd rather avoid having to tone down some effects to keep the game running properly if possible. Is there a better running emulator for low end computers (mine doesn't have proper shader support to give you an idea how old we're talking) that can fix this problem, or will I just have to bite the bullet and turn off a few effects?

Never had any problems using PSX Final with it. Good luck trying to import your save into Suikoden III, though.

Is your set up really that low end, though? PS1 games were just about the newest ones I could emulate before I upgraded my system a few months ago. The old computer was from 2009, and wasn't meant to be used for gaming.

My computer is older than 2009. I've had it for a good while and need to upgrade it once money is a thing I have. Once I hit 32-bit games, they either run smoothly or chug along slowly.

RetroArch: www.libretro.com/I recommend using the Nightly builds. I've only used the Windows ports, but I sincerely hope that RetroArch is the future of console emulation. It's not the easiest to configure but once you figure it out it's awesome!

Are there still no Neo Geo Pocket emulators that take screenshots? I've been using NeoPop forever, but I'd like to be able to take some decent screenshots easily within an emulator.

It's a great resource, though it wasn't been working for quite a while. Have they changed the address? EDIT: Yep, they changed it - consume.retrogames.com/

Yeah, you really need to get one of those USB adapters that lets you use a real N64 controller on your computer. You don't even have to buy an old, busted Nintendo one. Third-party 1:1 copies are arriving on the market, Genesis ones also. Retro gaming is really becoming a thing.

Just out of curiosity, what can you guys currently recommend for a good Saturn or Dreamcast emulator? I had NullDC but it never seemed to work well.

When it comes to Saturn emulation, SSF is your only real option. For Dreamcast stuff, I prefer DEmul.
