Harvey Birdman is really only a game for the true fan of the TV series - and even then, it's best played using a walkthrough, because then it's almost indistinguishable from an episode of the series. Well, outside of the fact that they inexplicably don't have the voice of Stephen Colbert as Phil and Reducto.

I've a slightly spoilerly question for one of the character names about which I just found out (text in black):
The name of Makoto Ese, the defendant of the last case, is Vera Misham. I think that's a damn good name, but I'm not getting the pun in the name "Misham." Is it supposed to mean anything? However, "Vera" means "truth," close to her original name (and Trucy's French name, Verite). That much I gather.

...! That's... actually very logical. A contradiction to the other name!

Never played any of these, and never read anything for them. I know the basic premise, and I love it. So I won't spoil it for myself, and will be playing the game ASAP (it's been that way for a year now *depressed* can't find it anywhere.)

Allow me to further praise Apollo Justice for being incredibly awesome, more than I thought it would. I'd safely say that it's better than Justice For All. Not sure where it stacks alongside the original Phoenix Wright and Trials and Tribulations, but... seriously, WHY did people say they weren't fond of this game again? I think it's still breathing life to the series instead of letting it go stale, what with all the awesome ways in which the DS is utilized. The music, in my opinion, is top-notch, and the characters are all very awesome in their own way (well... a certain witness in the last case almost came close to the annoyance factor of Moe, but I won't say who).
Although I found the name Trucy to be stupid for Apollo's sidekick, I just think the name now is SO very fitting for such a unique girl! Hell, I think all of the names fit very well, even if one of them is somewhat ridiculous (but it totally cracked me up when I first learned it; see if you can guess which one?). I might have to say that as far as dialogue goes, this one might have the most solid script thus far. The cases have all been a blast, and... well, I probably shouldn't pass judgment just yet. See, I'm not quite done with the game, but I'm getting close. I'll... obscure the rest in black on the premises of SPOILERS A-PLENTY:
This very unorthodox series has somehow become even more fubar. Essentially... I've fallen into The Matrix somehow. That's just how I like to put it. Although I've yet to utilize this "Mason System" thingy, this is where things take a turn for the f'ed up, I'm sure. Not to mention that Nick just totally fucked with the fourth wall. But hey, in a series that has heavily employed the use of spirit mediums and their powers, this surreality comes as no great shock to me. And now, I await to find the mysteries of the past... the only thing I know for sure is that Kristoph is the root of all evil here. He's got to be behind it, I'm almost certain of this. Oh man, I can't wait to get to the end of this... the suspense is poisoning me.

Question for Kurt: Do you need any help writing a description for Apollo Justice? I'll see if there's anything I can do to help. In the meantime, it might be worth mentioning... THIS! www.court-records.net/scan/gyakutenkenji.jpgYes... A SPINOFF STARRING MILES EDGEWORTH AND DICK GUMSHOE. Turnabout Kenji... holy christ on a crumpet. Well, I'm excited for this, I am. ;D

Yes please, actually! I got to the beginning of the third case. But then...uhh...after months of badgering, I finally got my gf onto Phoenix Wright, but then I had to lend my DS to her, so I haven't had the chance to progress.
I can get character pictures no problem, but I may need to scrounge for screenshots. Unless someone knows of a good source? There's only a handful of press ones, and unless someone has game saves for the DS emulator, it'd be a slooooow process grabbing more.

Ah, thank you, Rey. I was just about to say that I can't really do much as far as screenshots go. But if you want character descriptions, I'm your guy!

Rad, thanks Rey! I've managed to get enough to cover the article.
Sotenga, if you could follow the format of the previous ones, that'd be fine. Just pick out the major characters - like, for the 2nd case, you can probably skip Plum and the Godfather dude. Just be kinda vague on the case summaries without spoiling too much. Also do a quick write-up on some of the new features, like that whole MASON system thing I've heard about but haven't gotten up to.
Thanks!

Yo, Kurt! I've already drafted case and character descriptions. I'll get on the gameplay features eventually, but let me know when you want the descriptions. They get a slight tad spoilerly, but of course, nothing outright. Since you have yet to beat the game, I'd like to advise as much caution as possible.

As soon as possible, I guess. No real rush, but when you've finished em, just send em over. Thanks!

Minor correction: The cover of the first game is labeled as the DC cover. Objection!
I'm playing through Justice for All now. Finished the third case yesterday. I'm enjoying it but there some issues that really piss me off:
-The lack of the "Investigation - Cornered" theme from the first game really sucked out some of my fun from the court battles.
-The game's demands to suspend disbelief are a bit too much for me this time, what with amnesia to justify the obligatory tutorial and Franziska whipping everybody left and right. I'm so bored of Pheonix losing his spine outside of court battles. At least Franziska's not as strong as her father so we get to see her flinch alot. The way she squirms and hugs herself gives me naughty thoughts of looking for PW doujins...

JFA is really kind of the series' low point, if you ask me. It gets way better from there - and hell, even JFA's fourth case is far better than the third one.
