It is not exactly a rare incident that a game first gets announced, presented, and then... cancelled. Especially with flopped consoles, publisher tend to be quite trigger happy on the emergency brake for developments. What are games you had been hyped for, and still resent their disappearance? Here are mine: Dragon Sword, N64 After I had read first tiny previews in magazines back then, I was dead set to buy this upon release. To me it seemed like an awesome 3D version of Golden Axe. There's 4 characters, the last one doesn't have ingame screenshots, I think, but the character select screen shows him as a weird creature. Dark Angel, DC Actually, I only learned about this one after its cancellation. It seems there have been two versions. The first one looks like a boring Diablo clone, but the secong one looks great, almost like Drakan, only without the Dragon. Gun Valkyrie, DC Yeah, this was made into the Xbox game, but the trailer video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zyeBm1z__E) looks like it would have pushed the DC hardware further than any released game. The material also alludes to have had more of a story, and maybe even co-op elements.

Earthbound 64. I'm still reeling in disappointment.

Ghostlop!!!
This Data East Neo-Geo puzzle game is a cross between Puzzle Bobble, Breakout, and Ikaruga. It was completed but only one copy has been confirmed to still exist. My brother bought a bootleg cart of it (the only time my family has intentionally stolen a game) and it is one of my favorite Neo-Geo games of all time. Hopefully G-mode or somebody owns the rights to it and it will eventually get a proper release.

Castlevania DC and 32X. It would have been nice if they got leaked just to see if they would have been good.

Hard to think of a favorite right now but The Karate Ninja Show for Neo Geo was something I'd always been interested in. Yumekobo really knew how to utilize the Neo Geo's power.

Star Fox 2. The beta alone was pretty impressive. It's a shame we never got to see what the full game would've been like.

I'd like to refer to Lost Levels, a cool site on unrelease prototypes that has unfortunately been in limbo for over a year. Still, it's got some neat stuff to exhibit: lostlevels.org/I'd like to call special attention to Sunman: www.lostlevels.org/200311/200311-sunman.shtmlI played through it, and it's pretty cool. It's very short and glitchy, but I do like its concept and it could have been molded into a fine action game.

Chimera Beast A really Unique Arcade only shooter with a power up system that worked on killing certain enemys with your jaw attack. The game was fully completed with 2 endings the only bugs seem to be very minor ones in the endings. It's the only game I know that only gives you the Credits for the Bad Ending or dose that mean the bad ending is the True ending? www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/gaming/watch/v15591213DjGxZNFQIronicaly two days after Jaleco went out of business the game The Maw came out on 360 that has almost the same plot as Chimera Beast in some ways.

Desert Bus
Not that I'd actually want to play it to completion or anything, I just like the idea, in a strange, sadistic way.
